Key Responsibilities
Management and staff in Tungsten Automation Corporation’s Software Development job family help the company to build and improve new and/or existing software products and their applications that we sell to our customers. Responsibilities of the Project Lead – Software Development position include:
- Act as the go-to-person for project status updates and/or other inquiries related to the team’s deliverables
- Responsible for ensuring tasks within projects are completed on-time, and with high quality
- Contribute to team member identification/assignment (works with manager and other department managers)
- Play a lead role in project scoping (works with manager, other leaders and stakeholders)
- Responsible for completing regular reporting and project status updates
- Responsible for facilitating and coordinating interaction, communication, review and decision-making with a multitude of departments outside of immediate team
- Responsible for team members within a single function (i.e. within the Software Engineering job family) who are not direct reports.
Project Lead – Software Development staff must be capable of performing all of the following departmental tasks:
- Contributing to product ideas and innovation
- Evaluating product roadmaps (working with Product Management and User Experience, among other internal partners) to determine design and programming development requirements to meet customer needs (includes evaluating existing products and applications to enhance these and/or designing new products and applications)
- Conducting research, where appropriate and needed, to solve specific design problems
- Creating product and/or applications’ architecture and design documentation to specify engineering development requirements
- Writing/developing code for new, existing or enhanced software products and applications
- Working with various internal partners (such as Quality Assurance) to test new or enhanced products and their applications
- Participating in cross-functional build/configuration activities to ensure overall effective and efficient new or enhanced engineering design
- Contributing to downstream business activities such as technical publications and other technical communications’ tool development to ensure streamlined and effective end-user use of Tungsten Automation Corporation software products and their applications
- Ensuring new or updated releases are completed on-time, on-target, on-budget and without compromise to quality
- Supporting other internal and external partners/stakeholders/customers, as and when appropriate, in responding to technical inquiries
- Staying abreast of industry and field developments; remaining current in the latest technologies and functionalities, as well as ever-evolving needs of customers and their customers
- Utilizing AI-enabled tools (e.g., chatbots, document automation, analytics assistants) to improve efficiency, accuracy, and streamline routine tasks while following company AI governance and data privacy standards

Required Experience
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- 5+ years as project coordination/management of software applications or 5+ years as a software developer with extensive experience in C++, C# or other equivalents
- BA or BS degree in Computer Science or related field required
- Strong experience with JIRA, TFS or other PM Tools
- Integrity must be a fundamental part of your character
- Strong track record of success in fast-paced software, Internet, or tech-enabled companies
- Strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile Software Development Lifecycle methods
- Experience working for a Product based company and familiar with Product lifecycle (Product Readiness + GoToMarket coordination)
- Strong cross-team collaboration skills with demonstrable successes.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across disciplines.
- Flexible and adaptable to time-sensitive situations and work in a high-pressure environment
- You handle ambiguity, complexity and interdependencies in an organized, prioritized and structured way. You have excellent judgment and thoughtfulness about the dynamics of a product ecosystem.
- Experience with managing multiple concurrent projects with different time frames
- Skills in prompting AI systems and assessing quality
- Ability to leverage AI to ideate, develop, and scale to the needs of their department
Qualifications
Candidates for this position should hold the following qualifications, have the following experience, and be able to demonstrate the following competencies to be considered as a suitable applicant. Please note that except where specified as “preferred,” or as a “plus,” all points listed below are considered minimum requirements.
- Graduate Degree in a related discipline is strongly preferred
- Has 7-10 years’ relevant technical experience
- Demonstrable abilities to effectively drive projects from conception through to successful completion
