Role

The Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's financial operations run smoothly and remain compliant with statutory regulations. This position is responsible for managing month-end financial closures, statutory filings, audit coordination, and tax compliance. The role also involves preparing critical financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring adherence to local and international financial regulations

Key Responsibilities

Month End Closing:

  • Amortization of prepaid expenses (e.g., employee health insurance, gratuity, IT contracts).
  • Accrual of monthly expenses (e.g., utilities, security charges).
  • Reviewing and posting vendor invoices and employee expenses.
  • Preparing operating expenses recharge workings for ICO billing
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet schedules
  • Preparing monthly cash flow statements and variance analysis reports.

Accounting & Financial Reporting:

  • Preparing financial statements that are Ind AS/ IFRS compliant
  • Cashflow Report

Statutory Filings and Compliance:

  • Preparation and filing of quarterly eTDS returns.
  • Filing monthly GST returns, including reconciling input tax credit with government portal data and generating e-invoices..
  • Preparing and filing monthly and annual performance reports with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), including Softex forms for software export approvals.
  • Preparation of quarterly advance CIT installments and ensuring timely payments.
  • Calculating and remitting GST under the reverse charge mechanism (ie. cab hire services)
  • Reconciling provident fund contributions and professional tax deductions with government challans and remitting payments.

Audit and Tax Compliance:

  • Collaborating with auditors to provide necessary data and documentation, such as financial statements, tax filings and reconciliations.
  • Ensuring timely responses to auditor queries to meet stipulated deadlines.
  • Reviewing audit findings and implementing recommendations to improve financial processes and controls.
  • Assisting tax consultants in completing transfer pricing documentation post-audit.
  • Ensuring compliance with international transfer pricing regulations to avoid penalties or disputes.

  • Assisting with management reports and other tasks as required by regional finance team.

Required Skills

Requirements

  • At least bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or higher
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., NetSuite, Concur) and MS Excel, Word
  • Professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA, CMA)
  • Work with CA firms or Big 4
  • AI knowledge is a plus
  • Experience in handling audits and tax compliance in India
  • Familiarity with GST, TDS, income tax and other local / international statutory regulations
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in data entry skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written communication
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet closing deadlines
  • Team-oriented, flexible, proactive and positive working attitude.
