About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer with proven expertise in AWS and/or Azure to lead the design, automation, and management of our cloud infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone passionate about cloud technologies, automation, and building resilient, secure, and cost-effective environments. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions in a hybrid or multi-cloud setup.
Key Responsibilities:
· Architect and manage cloud environments on AWS and/or Azure based on application and business needs.
· Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
· Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
· Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise performance, availability, and cost in cloud environments.
· Collaborate with application teams to support containerised and serverless workloads (e.g., ECS, EKS, AKS, Azure Functions).
· Drive cloud cost optimisation through governance, right-sizing, and tagging strategies.
· Document designs, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
· Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical design reviews.
· Handle Incident and Service Requests, ensuring timely resolution and minimising downtime.
· Participate in post-incident reviews and recommend improvements to prevent future occurrences.
· Understand and follow ITSM processes to ensure incidents and service requests are managed according to best practices.
· Experience in handling Major Incidents, ensuring swift resolution and effective communication across teams and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or DevOps.
· Hands-on expertise with AWS and/or Azure cloud services.
· Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
· Familiarity with CI/CD platforms like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
· Solid understanding of networking and identity management in cloud environments.
· Experience with Docker and container orchestration (e.g., EKS, AKS, Kubernetes).
· Understanding of ITSM processes and how to apply them in cloud-based operations.
· Experience in handling Major Incidents, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage high-stakes situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
· One or more certifications, such as:
o AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
o Azure Solutions Architect Expert
· Experience in hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.
· Knowledge of DevSecOps and tools like Azure Defender, AWS GuardDuty, etc.
