The Basics

Software Engineers on the Platform & Infrastructure will join our engineering team in Kraków, reporting to the Leader of Engineering, Poland and own the systems that underpin how Tanium builds, validates, and ships its endpoint platform. This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on internal Kubernetes-based environment management, VM provisioning and templating, and the CI/CD pipelines that drive daily engineering and QA workflows across the organisation.

Strong platform engineering skills are essential. You will work closely with QA, platform, and developer-experience teams to keep these systems reliable, observable, and easy to use across the organisation.

What you’ll do

  • Build Systems, DevOps & CI/CD
  • Manage dependency update automation and shared tooling consumed across engineering
  • Operate and extend GitHub Actions-based CI/CD pipelines for cross-platform native and TypeScript/Node.js builds
  • Drive adoption of modern CI patterns to replace legacy pipeline approaches.
  • Cloud & Kubernetes Platform
    • Operate and evolve internal Kubernetes-based environment management used by engineering teams across the compan
    • Drive platform reliability — diagnose and resolve complex issues across Kubernetes clusters, services, and pipelines
  • Virtualisation & Lab Infrastructure
    • Own the VM template build pipeline (Packer + HCL), including OS image creation, base-image refresh, and onboarding of new operating systems
  • Improve provisioning reliability, speed, and visibility for engineers consuming lab environments day-to-day
  • Developer Experience & Reliability
    • Improve observability across pipelines and infrastructure (logs, metrics, alerts)
    • Partner with Engineering teams to keep nightly and pre-release test pipelines fast, stable, and trustworthy

We’re looking for someone with

  • Education
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT or other relevant degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience
    • 3+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record in platform, infrastructure, or test-infrastructure engineering
    • Strong proficiency in Go and TypeScript / Node.js — able to design, build, and maintain production services and tooling in both
    • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes — cluster operations, workload orchestration, networking, and troubleshooting in production
    • Experience with VMware vSphere / vCenter and image-build tooling such as Packer
    • Experience with large-scale CI/CD systems built on GitHub Actions (or equivalent)
    • Understanding of cloud identity, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC
    • Track record of owning complex, cross-team technical initiatives and shipping them end-to-end
    • Excellent written communication — clear design documents, specs, and async updates that drive alignment across teams
