Job Description
The Systems Engineering organisation provides infrastructure consulting, delivery, and support escalation to ServiceNow’s product teams.
We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to join our team in Dublin. You will be crucial in architecting and deploying robust, scalable, and secure Kubernetes infrastructure in both on-prem and public cloud environments.
The ideal candidate for this team is energised when presented with new and varied challenges; curious when working with new technologies; and above all derives great satisfaction by seeing an immediate and observable impact of their work on customer outcomes.
What you get to do in this role:
Design, implement and operate Kubernetes based infrastructure utilizing the organization’s current and future cloud native capabilities
Provide consultation and support to service owners on their engineering needs within Systems Engineering
Work with a broad spectrum of technologies, including containerization, compute and network management tools (such as Terraform and custom tooling), Kubernetes, the ServiceNow platform, configuration management tools, and foundational systems like DNS/LDAP/DHCP, among others.
Implement Python/Go, Ansible, Terraform automation and tooling to build, scale and operate the Kubernetes platform
Leverage AI tools and techniques to drive improvements in how we build, scale and maintain cloud infrastructure
Improve monitoring and alerting leveraging cloud-native tooling such as Prometheus and Grafana
Mature and transition developed solutions to SRE for ongoing maintenance
Work as part of a team that writes, reviews, and deploys everything as code leveraging gitops workflows and CI/CD pipelines
Research and implement new open-source and commercial tools, technologies and methodologies
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
4+ Yrs of Overall experience in the systems engineering and infrastructure domain
Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analysing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
Proven ability to drive change, with a passion for and experience in successfully introducing new services at scale.
A continuous learner mindset, thriving on solving new problems, exploring new technologies, and sharing knowledge with others.
Proficiency in software development, including experience in designing, authoring, testing, and debugging code in a popular systems language such as Python, Golang
Strong knowledge of and experience with Kubernetes architecture, security, policy agents.
Strong experience with monitoring, logging and alerting using tools including Prometheus and Grafana.
A deep understanding of Linux systems and their components, including networking, storage, and software packaging, and leveraging config management tools such as Puppet, Ansible.
A collaborative mindset, enjoying teamwork and working across different teams.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
