Job Description
Role Overview:
As a Senior Software Engineer in Performance Analytics at ServiceNow, you will contribute to the design and enhancement of Performance Analytics that power analytics and reporting across the ServiceNow platform. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to work with large-scale data systems, optimize performance analytics pipelines and help ensure data integrity for time-series analysis and business intelligence capabilities.

- Assist in building and optimizing configurations that capture time-based data changes across various data sources for Performance Analytics.
- Support the implementation and validation of Change Data Capture pipelines to track incremental data updates efficiently and ensure synchronization between transactional and analytical data stores.
- Collaborate with engineers and data architects to design scalable data models that support key performance indicators (KPIs), trend analysis, and insights.
- Contribute to performance tuning of processes and snapshot refresh cycles to improve system efficiency.
- Assist in developing APIs and data mining jobs to streamline data extraction, transformation, and loading for analytics consumption.
- Participate in creating validation frameworks to monitor data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across large datasets.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, data flows, and process enhancements to support long-term maintainability.
- Work closely with senior engineers, product managers, and architects to understand ServiceNow's Performance Analytics architecture and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of delivering high-quality products.
- Proficiency in Java, Javascript or similar object-oriented languages.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehousing, and time-series data management.
- Familiarity with SQL for data manipulation and automation tasks.
- Exposure to ETL frameworks, CDC techniques, or analytics platforms such as ServiceNow Performance Analytics, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, event-driven architectures is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Exposure to front-end frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue is a plus.
