Job Description

We are seeking an experienced tax professional with deep knowledge in both tax technicalities and operational aspects, committed to advancing and strengthening tax technical accounting and risk management frameworks. In this role, you will join the US Domestic and Reporting tax team and also work closely with the International and Indirect Tax teams. The role also focuses on leading strategic planning and executing technology-driven initiatives that harness data to optimize indirect tax processes, compliance for direct and indirect taxes, tax provision, planning, calculations, reporting, and analytics. This presents a unique opportunity to apply both established and innovative technologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams within ServiceNow to provide the tax team with actionable data.

To be successful in this role:

  • Lead strategic projects that improve internal workflows, managing the entire project lifecycle from design through implementation and quality assurance
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities, deploy solutions using AI agents and internal tools, and oversee successful rollouts
  • Partner with US and international tax teams and coordinate with cross-functional groups to ensure seamless tax integration of Finance initiatives
  • Collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams to implement and enhance comprehensive tax processes and procedures to reduce risks
  • Facilitate communication among tax specialists, finance, strategy, engineers, and customer-facing teams to translate tax regulations into system logic and resolve data issues
  • Maintain system and data integrity to guarantee accuracy and audit readiness
  • Monitor global tax developments, assess their relevance, and guide implementation of changes into internal systems
  • Support the team in producing analytics and reports that provide actionable insights to aid leadership decisions

Qualifications

  • Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics or related field.
  • 10+ years of combined relevant tax experience in Big 4 and/or in a private/public US corporation.
  • Solid technical proficiency in tax technical accounting.
  • Proactive, self-directed, and action-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect, influence, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders from front-line employees to executive leadership.
  • Clear communicator, experience running meetings effectively, and to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), particularly skilled in PowerPoint presentations.
  • Experience in financial and tax systems (e.g. SAP, OneSource Tax Provision, Alteryx, Power BI etc.)
  • Experience organizing large volume of information and identify automation and digitization opportunities
  • Experience with analytics, support metrics, and KPIs.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software/SaaS industry is highly desirable.

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $162,600 - $284,600, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
