Job Description
We are looking for a strategic, innovative executive communications professional to join our Global Employee Communications and Engagement team. The ideal candidate will be wired for quick action, and the ability to craft emotional, modern, people-focused stories that inspire and engage our target audiences. You’ll also be a pro at creating engagement strategies that build trust, loyalty, and advocacy for ServiceNow and its leaders.
Ultimately, you will be the strategic communications lead and a trusted partner, advisor, and master storyteller to ServiceNow’s Chief People and AI Enablement Officer. Working collaboratively with the Office of the CPO as an extended and integrated team member, and an integrated team across public relations, content/thought leadership, social media, employee communications, marketing, and brand, this leader will develop an integrated communications plan and executive visibility programs to inspire multiple audiences to be part of (and follow) the story of ServiceNow and our Chief People and AI Enablement Officer.
You will partner closely with a variety of business leaders and oversee execution of recommended content, creative, and stakeholder communications. This role will also help lead the ongoing communications strategy and metrics for the Global People organization. And you will manage a small team focused on Global People communications as well as the integrated communications plan for our Chief Workforce Innovation and Culture Officer and the RiseUp with ServiceNow program within her remit.
Overall, the role is ideal for a seasoned communications leader who is in tune with the latest industry trends, has a proven track record of compelling, concise content, and who is experienced in advising and influencing executives on their internal/external communications. We are looking for someone who skillfully manages competing priorities, is a quick and creative thinker, excels at building relationships, is process oriented, and brings rigorous attention to detail and a sense of urgency to everything they do.
Responsibilities
- Be a thought leader in the AI revolution and how it’s impacting both people and business.
- Understand the current communications landscape and needs of various audiences, regularly updating and evolving narratives to reflect changes to Chief People and AI Enablement Officer and Global People organization’s business priorities, supporting materials, internal programs, and the external environment.
- Partner closely with the GVP of People Strategy & Chief of Staff on all things Global People org, partnering with the Office of the CPO strategists and staff as thought leadership co-innovators.
- Develop a thoughtful executive brand framework to ensure our Chief People and AI Enablement Officer is engaging in the right events, forums and channels to deliver the ServiceNow and People Pact story.
- Continuously innovate ways to raise the Chief People and AI Enablement Officers brand.
- Design and produce executive visibility programs that turn ideas into compelling narratives, frameworks, and creative storytelling concepts across speaking opportunities, social and thought leadership content and more.
- Prepare executives with rehearsals, scripts, storyboards etc., while project managing the overall communications schedules and work products (like scripts, videos, social media amplification plans) with your team.
- Establish governance across all aspects of communications for Global People that ensure proactive and timely execution.
- Serve as a resource across the Global Communications team to ensure message alignment and consistency across all audiences, including customers and partners.
- Work closely with the People organization’s leaders to ensure strong message alignment with Chief People and AI Enablement Officer’s platform and calendar of upcoming events, social activations, and content plan.
- Manage communications at the intersection of people strategy, culture, and executive influence.
- Partner with others across the team to ensure alignment and impact to our People Pact and people program communications.
- Manage and engage with communications agencies and contractors on a variety of projects and initiatives.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a small team of direct reports.
Qualifications
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI’s potential impact on the function or industry.
- 12+ years corporate communications, public relations, marketing, or executive communications experience
- Ability to lead a high-performing team at scale that can flex with fast growth and frequent change
- Strong grasp of how AI is changing the people and technology landscape
- Experience building and executing a multi-functional communications strategy
- Experience crafting executive-level thought leadership and social strategies aligned to external visibility programs
- Experience working in a matrixed environment; strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to drive coordination across stakeholders
- Business maturity and experience working with senior executives
- Exceptional messaging and writing skills; attention to detail and accuracy in all communications deliverables
- Ability to manage multiple communication projects simultaneously and drive strong work-back plans, designed to drive measurable goals and business outcomes.
- Experience in a hypergrowth tech company and a desire to work collaboratively with C-Suite leaders, their teams, agency partners, business partners, and vendors are important.
- Strong natural ability to identify, develop, and tell a great story across multiple media
- Thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and adapt plans and approaches in real-time
- BS/BA degree required, MBA or an advanced degree recommended
For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $216,500 - $389,700, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs. Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located and is subject to change based on work location.
