Job Description

What you get to do in this role:

  • Your team will build the next generation of our Application Development Controller (ADC), VPN and Firewalls as we grow our networks
  • Your team will work from the ground up building brand new applications to help ServiceNow scale and grow to the next level
  • Manage product development activities
  • Work with product management, design, support and other dev teams to create high-quality solutions
  • Manage daily activities of the development team
  • Solve difficult and sometimes ambiguous problems
  • Manage departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
  • 5+ years of experience in software development life cycle and stakeholder management.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with at least 3 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • Experience managing employees who require little oversight in completing assigned work
  • Experience providing direction, delegate assignments, and support to accomplish tasks with their team
  • Experience working on backend/infrastructure services
  • Experience working with Nginx, HAproxy or other load balancing and deep packet processing solutions
  • Experience working in core Linux networking stack including DPDK, TLS offload, Smart NIC design and usage
  • Understanding of core internet routing and dynamics of designing and building a public facing network
  • Experience with network modeling and programming using technologies such as YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF, etc.
  • Experience building software solutions for Firewall, DDOS and VPN solutions
  • Experience with open source tools and agile development environments
  • Experience managing competing projects based on company priorities, context, risks and desired outcomes
  • Ability to understand and implement best practices and coding standards about role specific requirements (e.g. programming languages and tools, network design, functional design, algorithms, patterns, design and development, etc.).
