Job Description

Come lead the dream team. We’re rapidly expanding Playbook, a young product that revolutionizes how business process are designed, built, and executed. Process owners use a drag-and-drop builder to define a Playbook which then runs on ServiceNow's enterprise flow engine. End users then interact with a running Playbook Experience that updates in real time in response to the executing automations. This dramatically reduces the engineering expertise required to automate a multi-step process and create compelling, dynamic user experiences. What you get to do in this role:

  • Hire a new team of a rock star engineers.
  • Manage product development activities.
  • Work with product management, design, support and other dev teams to create high-quality solutions.
  • Manage daily activities of the development team.
  • Solve difficult and sometimes ambiguous problems.
  • Manage departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team.


To be successful in this role you have:

  • 14+ years of experience with software technologies and advanced coding skills with high-quality results.
  • Experience leading and mentoring engineering managers who lead their own engineering teams.
  • Experience managing employees who require little oversight in completing assigned work.
  • Experience managing multiple high performing, effective and successful engineering teams.
  • Experience providing direction, delegate assignments, and support to accomplish tasks with their team
  • Experience with open source tools and agile development environments
  • Extensive experience as Full stack engineer and proficient in relevant programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Ruby, React.js, HTML etc.)
  • Ability to understand broad concepts and use those concepts to understand and develop solutions for problems
  • Experience completing projects based on company priorities, context, risks and desired outcomes
  • Ability to understand and implement best practices and coding standards about role specific requirements (e.g. programming languages and tools, network design, functional design, algorithms, patterns, design and development, etc.).
