About Us
Salesforce Digital Enterprise Technology (DET) powers the technology ecosystem that enables Salesforce employees and business operations globally. Within DET, the CMDB team is responsible for developing and managing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), providing a trusted source of technology asset, application, cloud, infrastructure, and service dependency information across the organization.
Job Description
As a Software Engineer in the AITS CMDB team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and support enterprise CMDB and Technology Catalog capabilities on the Salesforce platform.
You will contribute to the development of scalable data models, technology inventory solutions, service dependency frameworks, and integration capabilities that improve enterprise technology visibility.
You will work closely with Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Operations, and M&A teams to onboard technology assets and maintain accurate configuration data.
You will drive automation, data quality, operational excellence, and platform innovation while helping establish CMDB governance and best practices across the enterprise.
You will play a key role in enabling strategic initiatives including Service Mapping, Technology Rationalization, Operational Resilience, and Mergers & Acquisitions integration programs.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain CMDB and Technology Catalog solutions on the Salesforce platform.
Build and support scalable Configuration Item (CI) data models for applications, cloud resources, infrastructure assets, databases, integrations, and business services.
Develop and maintain enterprise integrations using MuleSoft, APIs, event-driven architectures, and data synchronization frameworks.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define CMDB onboarding requirements and technology governance standards.
Support onboarding of acquired companies, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and infrastructure assets into the CMDB ecosystem.
Design and implement logical and physical dependency models between business services, applications, cloud resources, and infrastructure components.
Develop automation solutions to improve technology inventory collection, relationship mapping, and data quality management.
Implement validation, reconciliation, normalization, and compliance processes to ensure CMDB accuracy and integrity.
Support Service Mapping initiatives to establish end-to-end visibility across technology services and platforms.
Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot platform, integration, and data quality issues.
Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, estimation, design reviews, testing, and deployment.
Collaborate with the development scrum teams and other interconnected IT groups to optimize the end-to-end process including monitoring, deployment and support.

Ensure compliance with enterprise security, audit, SOX, and governance requirements.
Required Skills:
5–7 years of experience in enterprise application development, platform engineering, CMDB, technology asset management, or related technology domains.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience developing on the Salesforce.com platform & API’s
Strong understanding of CMDB concepts, Configuration Items (CIs), technology asset lifecycle management, and service dependency mapping.
Strong experience with Salesforce Data Cloud and enterprise data management solutions, including designing scalable data models, managing high-volume enterprise datasets .
Experience building integrations using MuleSoft, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, GraphQL,Pub/Sub and event-driven architectures
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Salesforce DX (SFDX), packaging, deployment automation, and DevOps best practices.
Strong understanding of enterprise technology domains including applications, cloud platforms, databases, servers, networking, storage, and SaaS platforms.
Experience developing automation and data processing solutions using Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform technologies.
Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery and/or ExtJS
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, reconciliation, normalization, and master data management concepts.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development methodologies, including design patterns, release management, deployment strategies, and testing best practices
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.

Working knowledge of ITIL Service Management concepts including:
Configuration Management
Incident Management
Problem Management
Change Management
Asset Management
Release Management
Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and influence cross-functional teams.
Experience working in operations ,strong debugging and troubleshooting skills and exceptional prioritization skills.
Experience building executive dashboards and operational analytics using Salesforce ecosystem tools.
Familiarity with AI-driven automation, metadata management, and enterprise data intelligence solutions.
Desired Skills:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
Must be certified with Platform Developer I, Salesforce Certified Administrator and Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator
Certification in Force.com and Integration would be an added advantage
Experience implementing service dependency mapping, logical CI frameworks, and relationship modelling strategies.
Experience supporting Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) technology integration programs.
Experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers.
Knowledge of Operational Resilience, Disaster Recovery, and Service Continuity concepts.
