Role Description
We are seeking a talented, self-directed, and technically skilled individual on the DET Engineering team. This role offers an opportunity to make an impact while partnering with Salesforce’s mission-driven teams. You will apply your strong foundation in Salesforce platform, Java or equivalent languages to Design, build, test, and maintain scalable Salesforce Applications and Web Services, implement DevOps and Quality Engineering practices such as automated testing, code quality enforcement, and environment management using tools like Git, Jenkins, SFDX, Salesforce CLI, and Salesforce APIs. Additionally, you will ensure security best practices are followed, collaborate across teams to streamline workflows, and provide technical documentation to support continuous improvement in release and operations processes. You will be responsible through all phases of the development lifecycle, from initial technical designs, implementation, testing, to production deployments.
This job requires that you be a self-starter with the ability to take ownership, work under pressure, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential to interact with team members and deliver fast, reliable code.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deliver highly scalable and reliable solutions on the Salesforce platform.
Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using APIs and middleware.
Implement business process automation using Salesforce Flows, Process Builder, Apex, Triggers, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
Support and contribute to AI-powered Salesforce use cases, including Einstein GPT and Agentforce.
Quickly gain a deep understanding of the codebase, development processes, and engineering culture, and actively contribute to continuous improvement.
Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, UX designers, and performance engineers to deliver features that are scalable, stable, and highly adopted by customers.
Define test strategies, build automation frameworks, and develop unit and functional tests to improve code coverage and automation metrics.
Adhere to Salesforce development best practices, security standards, code review guidelines, and ensure compliance with data governance and platform limits.
Required Skills
1–3 years of experience with Salesforce development or equivalent platform-based development.
Academic, professional, or internship experience working in a production-grade coding environment.
Strong foundation in object-oriented programming and design principles.
Familiarity with Salesforce Clouds, version control systems, and deployment processes.
Proficiency in Java or Python.
Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and SQL.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Desired Skills
Salesforce certifications and CRM domain knowledge.
Experience with the Salesforce platform, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub).
Exposure to Heroku, MuleSoft, or external system integrations.
Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor) to improve developer productivity, code quality, and workflows.
Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience delivering solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
Ability to use telemetry, monitoring, and metrics to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
