Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) – Workday Financials (AR Systems)
Digital Enterprise Technology (DET) is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) to join our Finance Engineering team as a Workday Financials Configuration Lead. This role is focused on advanced configuration across Workday Financials, with deep expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR).
You will act as a configuration design authority, driving scalable, compliant solutions across key modules including Customer/Contracts/Invoicing (AR), Accounting Center , Workday Tax, General Ledger (GL) and Banking & Settlement, while partnering closely with Finance, Tax, and Engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end configuration of Workday AR including customers, invoicing, settlements, cash application, adjustments, and collections
Design and optimize Business Process Framework (BPF), including approvals, routing, and SOX-compliant controls
Configure Workday Tax (tax codes, authorities, transaction tax rules) aligned with invoicing and settlement flows
Define and manage accounting logic using Accounting Center and ensure accurate financial postings
Design scalable financial data structures and support reporting, reconciliation, and audit requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust configurations
Drive governance, design reviews, release impact analysis, and testing strategies
Mentor team members and promote best practices in Workday Financials configuration
Required Skills
8+ years of hands-on Workday Financials configuration experience, with strong focus on AR
Deep expertise in Accounts Receivable lifecycle (invoicing, cash application, settlements, adjustments)
Strong experience with Business Process Framework (BPF) and workflow configuration
Hands-on expertise in Accounting Center , calculated fields, and advanced reporting
Experience configuring Workday Tax and understanding of tax integration touchpoints
Solid understanding of finance processes such as Record-to-Report and Quote-to-Cash
Experience with Workday security model (domain and role-based access)
Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills across Finance and Engineering teams
