About Salesforce
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.
Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
As part of the Salesforce Public Sector business unit, you'll work at the intersection of cutting-edge cloud technology and mission-critical national security. We deliver PaaS and SaaS solutions that meet the rigorous standards of NIST, FedRAMP High and CMMC — empowering defense agencies, aerospace primes, and government system integrators to modernize operations and accelerate mission outcomes.
We're looking for an exceptional Solution Engineer to join our Aerospace & Defense (A&D) and Government SI team. In this role, you'll serve as the trusted technical advisor and "quarterback" of the sales cycle — uncovering mission requirements, architecting compelling solutions, and eliminating technical barriers to adoption across some of the most complex and high-stakes accounts in the federal ecosystem.
If you're fluent in the language of defense acquisition, government contracting, and enterprise cloud architecture — and you love translating complex technology into clear mission value — we want to talk to you.
Responsibilities
Engage directly with defense agencies, Aerospace & Defense primes (e.g., Lockheed, Raytheon, Boeing, Northrop), and large Government SIs (e.g., Leidos, SAIC, Booz Allen, Accenture Federal) to understand mission goals, program requirements, and technical constraints
Map customer challenges to the Salesforce platform portfolio, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, MuleSoft, Tableau, Agentforce, and Government Cloud Plus (GovCloud+)
Design, build, and deliver compelling, tailored demonstrations and proof-of-concept solutions aligned to A&D and Federal SI use cases (e.g., program management, logistics, sustainment, case/investigation management, acquisition lifecycle)
Clearly articulate Salesforce's security and compliance posture — FedRAMP High, DoD IL authorizations, CMMC alignment, and data sovereignty — to technical evaluators, CISOs, and program offices
Lead and contribute to RFI/RFP/RFQ responses, Oral Presentations, and technical volumes for government acquisition vehicles
Partner with Account Executives, Capture Managers, and Customer Success teams in a team-selling environment to support pursuit strategy and pipeline development
Maintain awareness of the defense acquisition lifecycle (FAR/DFARS, OTA, IDIQ/GWAC vehicles such as SEWP, GSA MAS, CIO-SP3) to position solutions effectively
Participate in product, sales, and technical training to maintain platform expertise and relevant certifications (Salesforce certifications, security clearance maintenance, etc.)
Attain quarterly and annual objectives defined collaboratively with management
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent work experience
7+ years of experience as a Solution/Sales Engineer for a CRM, enterprise SaaS, or mission IT company — ideally with A&D or Federal Government customers
Demonstrated experience supporting Government SI partners or defense or intelligence community accounts or
Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks: NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD STIGs, and cloud security architecture
Knowledge of cloud platforms (SaaS/PaaS), relational databases, API/integration architecture, and cybersecurity principles
Experience with government acquisition processes — including RFI/RFP responses, oral presentations, and demo scenarios for technical evaluation boards
Strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills — including the ability to engage both C-suite executives and hands-on technical evaluators
Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, team-selling environment and manage multiple pursuits simultaneously
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to travel domestically (including to customer sites, military installations, and industry events)
Preferred Qualifications
Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Platform Developer, or Public Sector Solutions)
Experience with GovCloud, AWS GovCloud, or Azure Government environments
Understanding of OT/IT convergence in aerospace manufacturing and defense sustainment
