Role Overview

The Sales Strategy team functions as an internal consulting arm for the sales organization, within which the Specialist plays a pivotal role. The Specialist is responsible for analyzing key metrics regarding company performance and market opportunities, defining strategic themes, and delivering recommendations and presentations to senior leadership. This role involves projects such as organizational design, business planning, market segmentation, coverage optimization, and sales performance evaluation.
Key deliverables include sophisticated analytical models, performance reports, various dashboards, and presentation materials for executive leadership. The Specialist must possess the drive and skill to perform scalable, repeatable, and innovative analyses, providing insights backed by data. Regular engagement and discussion with senior executives are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Executive Communication: Create and deliver high-impact presentations for senior executives.

  • Business Intelligence: Conduct routine business performance analysis to support executive decision-making.

  • Systems & Modeling: Design and build analytical models using scalable reporting tools.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Facilitate regular information sharing and process improvement initiatives with the sales organization and related departments.

  • Market Research: Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis and research (internal/external) to understand market trends and devise innovative customer acquisition strategies.

  • GTM Optimization: Design analytical models necessary for optimizing the Go-To-Market (GTM) model.

  • Sales Operations: Design and implement optimal sales territories and quotas.

  • Project Management: Manage and operate multiple projects/initiatives in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners (marketing agencies, data vendors, etc.).

  • Global Coordination: Liaise and negotiate with the US headquarters and international affiliates.

Requirements

  • Analytical Expertise: Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced spreadsheet skills, with experience in database analysis.

  • Actionable Insights: Ability to provide analysis and recommendations that lead to concrete actions; capability to design executable and realistic measures.

  • Proactive Mindset: Self-motivated with a strong desire to exceed expectations and go beyond the assigned tasks.

  • Project Leadership: Proven experience in project management.

  • Agility & Collaboration: Ability to work at the pace of a high-growth startup, involving and collaborating with others to achieve goals.

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in Japanese and English (equivalent to TOEIC 800+ or higher) with excellent communication skills.
