About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

As a PhD Workforce Innovation Intern, you will serve as a bridge between academic rigor and corporate strategy. You will lead research-driven initiatives to help Salesforce navigate the strategic integration of AI and emerging technologies. This role is designed for a researcher who thrives at the intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Organizational Behavior, and Applied AI.

What You’ll Lead:

  • Strategic Research & Framework Development: Design and execute high-impact research to redefine job architectures and organizational structures in an AI-first world.

  • HCI Advocacy: Apply advanced Human-Computer Interaction principles to ensure new work models enhance—rather than replace—human capabilities, focusing on the "augmentation" of the workforce.

  • Data-Driven Workforce Transformation: Leverage your AI fluency to analyze complex data sets, identifying opportunities for large-scale efficiency gains while maintaining a focus on employee well-being and inclusivity.

  • Experimental Design: Prototype and pilot new organizational models, evaluating their impact on productivity and employee experience through rigorous qualitative and quantitative methods.

  • Cross-Functional Thought Leadership: Translate complex theoretical findings into pragmatic, business-oriented insights for senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Current PhD Candidate: Pursuing a degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Computer Science, or a related field graduating in December 2026 or later.

  • AI/Tech Fluency: A deep understanding of how generative AI and automation are reshaping the modern labor market.

  • Qualitative Research: Skilled in conducting interviews and fieldwork; skilled at organizing and coding complex information to turn human insights and observations into clear, practical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pragmatic Mindset: The ability to balance academic depth with the speed and pragmatism required in a fast-paced corporate environment.

  • Research Expertise: Proven track record of designing original research, managing data, and applying theoretical frameworks to real-world problems.

  • Data Analysis: Proficient in R or Python for managing large datasets and creating data visualizations to communicate key research findings
