If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change, you’ve come to the right place.
Role Summary We are looking for a visionary, hands-on Principal Software Engineering with deep expertise in AI-driven automation and agentic systems. In this role, you will lead the development of advanced automation capabilities that augment offensive security and security research workflows. You will guide a small, agile team while actively designing, building, and refining orchestrated, multi-step AI-assisted workflows. Your focus will be on creating reliable, explainable, and controllable automation that can reason over complex inputs, coordinate multiple actions, and continuously improve through feedback. While familiarity with model training and tuning is beneficial, your core strength will lie in system design, orchestration, and the operationalisation of AI-driven automation.
Your Impact
System Architecture: Drive the architecture of agent coordination, task planning, execution, and control mechanisms to ensure predictable and safe operations.
Hands-On Engineering: Personally contribute to core automation design, orchestration layers, prompting strategies, tool interfaces, and execution logic.
Advanced Automation: Design and implement orchestrated, agent-based automation capable of reasoning over large data sources, planning multi-step actions, grounding on real-world data, and adapting behavior based on results.
Safety & Control: Establish human-in-the-loop control points to balance autonomy with expert oversight. Maintain high engineering standards around safety, testing, and change control.
Continuous Improvement: Define and implement feedback loops that allow automation to improve signal quality, prioritization, and decision-making over time.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with security experts and engineers to ensure automation aligns with real operational needs, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, observable, and explainable.
Required Skills
Experience: 13+ years of overall software engineering experience, with 5+ years specifically in AI/ML engineering or applied AI, featuring proven production systems.
AI Leadership: Experience leading AI/ML teams operating in complex data environments.
Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with LLMs, agentic frameworks, and internal ML platforms. Strong software engineering skills, including designing modular, extensible systems and working with APIs, services, and distributed components.
Agentic Architecture: Deep understanding of AI-driven automation and system orchestration, including task planning/decomposition, tool usage, MCP tweaking/development, state management, and memory strategies.
Operationalisation: Hands-on experience operationalising LLM-based systems beyond simple prompt-response use cases.
Risk & Safety Management: Ability to reason about failure modes, safety boundaries, and control mechanisms in autonomous or semi-autonomous systems.
Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex systems into clear mental models for technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Background in security engineering, offensive security, or security research.
Experience with model fine-tuning, evaluation, or lightweight training workflows.
Familiarity with large-scale data ingestion and normalisation, signal correlation, and prioritisation systems.
Experience with workflow engines or enterprise automation platforms.
Experience designing systems that operate across large, evolving external surfaces.
Comfort balancing rapid experimentation with operational reliability.
Benefits & Perks
Comprehensive benefits package including well-being reimbursement, generous parental leave, adoption assistance, fertility benefits, and more!
World-class enablement and on-demand training with Trailhead.com.
