What are we looking for?

Salesforce is seeking a proven, high-impact sales leader to serve as Area Vice President (AVP) for our Commercial Business Unit in Australia. This is a critical leadership role responsible for driving profitable growth, operational excellence, and customer success across our fast-growing Commercial segment.

The Commercial Business Unit is a strategic growth engine for ANZ, targeting mid-market companies. The unit is focused on delivering double digit revenue growth through multi-cloud expansion, Agentforce adoption, and scalable go-to-market motions. You will champion Salesforce's position in the Agentic Enterprise, driving AI-led transformation, and moving customers into the Agentic Enterprise era

The candidate will have proven experience in sales leadership, leading high performance teams with proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment and an ability to drive activities that create a culture of performance and success. The role will be reporting to the Executive Vice President and GM of ANZ.


As a business leader, customer partner, and talent multiplier, you will:

  • Lead with Vision: Define and implement Salesforce’s sales strategy, positioning the company as the trusted partner for transformation and innovation.

  • Drive Growth: Rapidly grow top-line revenues, exceed quotas, and implement scalable, repeatable systems that create long-term success.

  • Encourage Excellence: Build and lead a high-performing sales organization known for its culture, execution, and results.

  • Champion Customer Success: Develop deep, trusted partnerships with key accounts, helping them achieve transformational outcomes through Salesforce solutions.

  • Collaborate to Innovate: Partner across functions and teams to ensure Salesforce delivers holistic, customer-centric solutions.

Core Responsibilities:


In this high-impact role, you will:

Revenue Leadership & P&L Accountability

  • Own and deliver the Commercial segment P&L including double digit revenue growth target for FY27

  • Drive consistent quarterly execution through disciplined forecasting, pipeline management, and deal velocity

  • Achieve multi-cloud penetration targets across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and Agentforce

  • Maximize create-and-close velocity through scrappy, scalable plays and high-volume execution

  • Deliver on Net New AOV (NNAOV), consumption growth, and new logo acquisition goals


Operational Excellence and Execution

  • Lead a team of Sales Leaders and Account Executives to close complex commercial and upper mid-market deals with precision and discipline.

  • Establish robust sales processes and metrics to drive predictable, repeatable growth.

  • Cultivate a culture of operational rigour, ensuring strong reporting, forecasting, and accountability against targets.

Collaboration Across Salesforce

  • Work closely with cross-functional leaders in Marketing, Solution Engineering, Customer Success, Sales Strategy, and Employee Success to align resources and priorities.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and customer obsession

  • Drive talent development through structured coaching, career pathing, and succession planning

  • Foster diversity, inclusion, and belonging across the Commercial organization


Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain strong customer relationships, becoming a trusted advisor to CxO-level stakeholders.

  • Drive customer success outcomes while partnering with Customer Success, Professional Services, and Support to ensure seamless customer experiences

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Product, Marketing, Alliances, and Operations

  • Represent the Commercial segment in OU leadership forums and strategic planning sessions

What Makes You the Ideal Candidate?


We’re looking for an exceptional leader with:

Sales Leadership Expertise

  • 15+ years of progressive B2B enterprise software or SaaS sales experience

  • Experience in sales leadership roles managing managers (2nd line leader minimum)

  • Proven track record of consistently delivering $100M+ revenue goal

  • Deep expertise in mid-market/commercial segment sales motions and scalable GTM strategies

  • Strong P&L management skills with demonstrated ability to drive profitable growth

  • Executive presence with ability to engage C-suite customers and internal stakeholders

  • Exceptional coaching, talent development, and team-building capabilities

  • Data-driven leader with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities

Highly Desirable

  • Prior experience as an AVP, RVP, or senior sales leader at Salesforce or similar SaaS companies

  • Deep knowledge of the Australian market and business landscape

  • Experience selling CRM, customer experience, or AI/data platforms

  • Track record of leading through organizational change and scaling high-growth businesses

  • Established relationships within the Australian enterprise technology ecosystem

  • Experience with consumption-based sales models and product-led growth motions

  • Proven ability to drive multi-cloud sales and complex solution selling
