What is a Solution Consultant?
Also known as a "Presales Consultant," "Sales Consultant," or “Sales Engineer”, our team is looking for curious candidates with a real passion for technology to join our Solution Engineering team for the Services industry. We are deeply passionate about customer success, our technology, solutions, and our business. We deliver strategies and solutions that fuel growth by capturing the C-Suite's mind share, budget, and wallet share in every account: accelerating new customers, growing big deals, and extending the platform.

We partner with our sales team to drive new business and help companies reach their growth goals. While selling value is our main focus, we intend to engage in discussions around process improvement and best practices to help our customers succeed. Your role as Solution Consultant for the Retail industry
The Solution Consulting team is organized into several smaller teams based on the products they are selling, or the industry/vertical they are selling into. In this case, we’re looking for someone to support the Retail industry team. This position is a Global Presales Role to support our most strategic retail customers.

We’re looking for a presales colleague preferably from the software industry and/or with consulting/customer background to support our Pre-Sales team. This role specifically is to support as a Pre-Seller for our retail customers.

This role is perfect for someone who likes to work with people, is able to think strategically, interested in technology / digitalisation, interested in continuous learning, and has an understanding of what challenges the Retail industry is facing today.

A typical day of a Solution Consultant consists of the following:

  • Liaise with your sales counterpart “on eye level” to develop new/existing business or account strategy.

  • Lead discovery sessions with your customers to understand/identify industry challenges as a basis to build an innovative solution in a digitalized world.

  • Clearly articulate the benefits of Salesforce to customers at all levels, examples include; Administration/IT Staff, managers and "C" level executives.

  • Create memorable positive experiences for your customers, using emotional intelligence, storytelling, immersive demo techniques, etc.

  • Leverage your technicals skills to build innovative art of the possible demo solutions and establish a trusted relationship with the technical collaborators on the customer side.

  • Orchestrate an extended Solution Consulting team while building e.g. Multi-Cloud solutions for the customer.

  • Represent Salesforce during Marketing or Partner Events with the specific Consultant knowledge (e.g. Industry demos, industry-specific discussions/use cases).

  • Have a strong interest in growing your career and participating in our internal training programs and mentorship initiatives.


Required Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the unique business requirements of the retail industry trends and “language”.

  • Experience implementing Digital Transformation strategies and delivering increased success to their customers.

  • Track record of solution engineering, consultancy, delivery, or training success for an enterprise software solution organization. We are open to a variety of backgrounds for the role.

  • Proven oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication and relationship skills.

  • Proven time management skills in a dynamic team environment.

  • Ability to work as part of a team to tackle problems in dynamic, energising environments.

  • Inquisitive, practical, and passionate about technology and sharing knowledge.

  • Curious Mindset: Loves to be the first to know something and to understand why and how things happen.

  • Good at searching out information and experimenting, love to concentrate on a particular topic, and tackle puzzles.

  • Good at explaining ideas and finding ways to keep people’s attention.

  • Willing and able to travel occasionally

  • Experience will be evaluated based on alignment to the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer work, etc.).

  • Fluency in English and German
