About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Slack is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager on the Slackforce team, the group bridging Slack and Salesforce into one seamless experience.

You’ll lead a talented team of backend and frontend engineers, guiding them to design systems and APIs with the end user in mind. You’ll foster strong collaboration across engineering, product, and design, translating complex integrations into intuitive, high-impact experiences. As a technical and people leader, you’ll shape both the architecture and the culture that define how Slack and Salesforce come together: building scalable, reliable systems while helping your engineers grow into their best selves.

About the team:
The Slackforce team is at the forefront of a strategic initiative to transform enterprise collaboration by seamlessly integrating Slack and Salesforce. Our mission is to make two of the world’s most widely used platforms feel like one unified, intuitive system.

Following Salesforce's acquisition of Slack, our work is pivotal in establishing Slack as the primary frontend for the Salesforce platform. With Slack's acclaimed product and friendly chat-based interface, it is also becoming Salesforce’s primary interface for their Agentic AI experience.

As the central pillar driving this integration, we build the connective tissue that brings Salesforce data and workflows directly into Slack, while embedding Slack conversations directly within the Salesforce UI. Our focus is on delivering deeply user-centric product experiences:

  • We bring the 20% of Salesforce features that users utilize 80% of the time directly into the Slack interface, empowering sellers to update account, opportunity, and deal records, and progress their sales motions directly from their flow of work in Slack.
  • We are building Salesforce Channels, an innovative feature that links a Salesforce record (structured data) to a Slack channel (unstructured data). This enables Slack to pull structured data from Salesforce into the channel view, where users can directly edit information, trigger workflows, and automate notifications based on record updates.

What you will be doing

  • Use data to make decisions about prioritization and impact
  • Have a real passion for experimentation
  • Mentor and coach engineers on the team, helping them to develop into technical leaders
  • Work closely with Product, Design, Data, and Marketing to conceive features that will help our users to successfully build their teams
  • Build roadmaps and long-term team vision in partnership with the Product team
  • Be accountable for driving project execution
  • Define and fulfill the engineering hiring plan for the team, including screening and interviewing.
  • Anticipate future technical needs and craft plans to realize them
  • Collaborate with other engineering leaders on priorities, processes, and policies

What you should have

  • You have 2+ years of engineering management experience leading productive, high-functioning teams.
  • You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
  • Ability to weigh several and often conflicting constraints to make rapid decisions in a multifaceted and quickly-growing company
  • You have enough technical experience to discuss architecture and product decisions with engineers.
  • Strong technical intuition across backend, system, and API design
  • Strong product sense, understands how tech choices shape UX and business outcomes
  • You have a proven history of shipping products with consistent execution.
  • You are highly organized and thrive in rapid-paced environments.
  • You don’t shy away from performance conversations and you recognize the relationship between objective feedback and career growth.
