We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Collections Manager to lead and optimize our collections operations across the English-speaking European region! The role will be based from our Amsterdam office in the Netherlands.
This role will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives, enhancing collection processes, and managing key stakeholders to improve cash flow and minimize risk. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of accounts receivable management, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the collections function for European region, setting strategic goals to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Collections Team Leads and Analysts, fostering a high-performance culture focused on results, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Sales, Customer Success, and Legal teams to address collection challenges, resolve disputes, and drive operational excellence.
- Identify and implement best practices, automation, and process enhancements to improve cash flow, reduce aged receivables, and streamline collections efforts.
- Manage escalated customer issues, negotiate payment solutions, and mitigate credit risk while maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Analyze and report on key performance measurements, including: Collection on-time rates, collection effectiveness, and delinquency trends, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and local market requirements related to Talents hiring, work-council, & AR operations management.
- Work with teams across EMEA to align collection strategies and share best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or collections, with at least 5 years in a managerial role leading teams.
Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in German, French, Spanish, and/or Italian is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with Salesforce CRM is a plus.
Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop teams while effectively collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk, negotiate payment plans, and handle issues diplomatically.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience in using collections metrics, data analytics, and reporting to drive performance improvements.
Comfortable working in a multicultural, international environment, understanding the complexities of managing collections across European markets.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
