Role: Account Executive (ECS)

Team: Public Sector

Location: Sydney

We are seeking a Senior Account Executive to drive sales revenue and build lasting relationships within the Federal and ACT Government sectors. Working in partnership with experienced Enterprise Account Executive (s), you will represent Salesforce, focusing on government clients across federal and territory levels, with a strong emphasis on delivering customer-focused solutions.

With your extended team, you will lead and support the sales process, including Account Planning, Lead Qualification, Negotiation, and Closing while developing long-term partnerships with key government stakeholders. This is a quota-carrying role, essential to the success of the broader sales team.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include:

  • Create/co-create and implement effective territory and account plans for the Federal, ACT and Northern Territory Government sectors.

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of government policies, procurement cycles, and initiatives within the public sector.

  • Position our unique Salesforce solutions that address the specific needs of government clients, including but not limited to regulatory compliance, service delivery, and citizen engagement.

  • Meet and exceed sales goals (quotas) through prospecting, qualifying, managing, and closing sales opportunities within the assigned government territory.

  • Leverage a matrix account team consisting of Business Development Representatives, Cloud Sales Executives, Solution Engineers, Services Practice Managers, Marketing, Inside Sales Support, and Customer Success Professionals.

  • Maintain Salesforce's CRM system with accurate account status and opportunities to drive informed decisions and ensure effective territory management.

  • Nurture and expand relationships with federal and territory government clients by deeply understanding their unique challenges, including budget constraints, regulatory requirements, and evolving government priorities. Demonstrate how Salesforce solutions effectively address these challenges and drive government success.

  • Practice effective communication with leadership, customers, extended teams, and partners, ensuring alignment with government needs and priorities.

  • Participate in team-building and company-growth activities such as strategic planning, sales training, customer marketing efforts, and volunteering.

  • Travel to customer locations in support of sales efforts, particularly within Federal and ACT Government regions.
