Salesforce Inc. seeks Senior Director Software Engineering in Dallas, TX:

Job Duties: Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming. Manage a team of engineers to achieve objectives including the attainment of targets for resolution time and service levels. Find, hire, and retain the best technical talent. Be accountable for the success of direct reports, providing coaching, mentorship, and support to help them develop professionally as well as achieve their delivery goals. Build relationships with teams across the organization, including software engineering, SRE, infrastructure, and Customer Support. Serve as an ambassador for Customer Trust and drive accountability through influence. Manage highly visible, critical technical escalations and ensure prompt and complete resolution. Lead cross-functional efforts to solve for the root cause of technical issues. Inspire trust and confidence in Salesforce when communicating with customers. Guide the team in continuously improving as it grows, from maintaining a high bar for hiring, to restructuring as needed, to building and maintaining relationships with other teams across the company. Drive cross-departmental strategic initiatives identified in partnership with various stakeholders such as Technical Support, Software Engineering, and Infrastructure. Ensure clear organizational priorities which are aligned with departmental and company goals. Influence the Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve supportability and usability of Mulesoft product and platform. Build tools and frameworks to speed up issue resolution and improve MTTR metrics. Telecommuting is an option.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in a related field OR Bachelor’s degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in a related field.

A related technical degree required (Computer Science, Engineering (any field)).

Special Skill Requirements: (1) Java; (2) Apache Kafka and Spark; (3) SQL on Hadoop; (4) Distributed Software Systems and Data platforms; (5) AWS, Azure, and GCP; (6) Linux platform Redhat; (7) Automation; (8) Hotfix patches; (9) Build and manage global teams with the offshore delivery model knowledge; (10) Customer escalation management. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option.
