The Salesforce Competitive Intelligence team seeks a leader with a track record of success to fill the Vice President of Competitive Intelligence (CI), Global Driven Programs role. This person will be aligned with our global distribution organization and lead a team responsible for identifying and providing competitive insights that will help drive increased pipeline and competitive win rates through competitive deal support, programs, and initiatives. The ideal candidate will easily toggle between enablement, field activation, deal support, program execution and actionable insights. In addition, this leader will collaborate with the product-facing functions within CI, Product Marketing, Product General Managers, and Product Strategy to own and scale the execution of our CI programs while measuring the impact and global reach of our efforts. This lead takes pride in helping Salesforce win.

This position requires strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead deliverables across cross-functional teams. Key qualities for success in this role include identifying and understanding the competitive landscape of a Sales BU, developing a mutual partner relationship with BU leadership, running sophisticated business processes, analytical problem-solving skills, tech-savvy and excellent troubleshooting skills, ambitious drive and work ethic, results orientation, and a tried ability to contribute and succeed in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Think strategically to provide advice to senior sales leadership and secure partner alignment and mutual accountability.
  • Set the direction and drive accountability of the global CI scale team to deliver on the CI operating model, measure results, and adapt where required to increase competitive win rates and pipeline.
  • Act as the first point of contact for driven sales topics for global Sales executive leadership, engaging and collaborating with other supporting functions to improve our win rates.
  • Define and implement driven programs for aligned Sales BUs.
  • Provide proactive / reactive deal support to sales teams in specific driven opportunities within aligned Sales BUs.
  • Develop and implement successful competitive sales campaigns.
  • Coaching direct reports on strategies to drive CI scale impact
  • Accurate reporting on sales activity and forecasting to senior sales management
  • Consistent monitoring of the sales activity of the team, and tracking of results
  • Proactively lead and supervise CI demand generation and activities
  • Identify, develop, and deliver enablement to quip the Sales BUs with competitive strategies to win.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal partners to drive accountability on consistent processes, deliverables and impact.
  • Develop required Executive relationships and engagement cadence to support success.
  • Stay tuned to market signals (competitive messaging, trends, etc.) to identify engagement opportunities.

Required Skills:

  • Strong leadership capabilities with proven track record in building successful teams of ten or more people and leading them to success
  • Experience in team development, coaching and mentoring
  • Have tried knowledge or experience in two or more of the of the following domains:
    • CRM
    • Industry Solutions
    • AI and Data
    • Integration and Automation
  • Strong executive engagement, relationship-building and influencing skills
  • A self-starter that can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • High sense of urgency to respond to critical business challenges and opportunities.
  • Curious, analytical, data-driven, innovative, and creative — with the execution skills to make it happen.

Education / Experience:

  • 10+ years of competitive intelligence, account executive/solutions engineer, sales strategy, sales programs, sales operations, or business/technology consulting experience.
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Management, Marketing, or equivalent work experience.
  • An internal understanding of Salesforce’s current data/reporting/governance tools and sales processes is highly preferable.
  • Experience working with executive sales leadership and distributed global sales teams in multiple geographies is desirable.

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring, Salesforce will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $239,300 to $382,900.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $219,400 to $351,000.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
