Summary:
The Lead UX Researcher, Event Technology, is responsible for leading user research in support of the Strategic Events and Events Technology teams. The Event Technology team is a product and engineering team within the marketing department that is responsible for the shared technology services that power Salesforce’s biggest events, including Dreamforce, Connections and the Salesforce World Tour series. This net-new role will support user research on both technical products (events app and associated features, online streaming features, etc.) and in-person event experiences (event attendee registration, venue wayfinding, etc.), requiring up to 20% travel to in-person events. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of direct experience in user research or a related field and a strong understanding of UX research methodologies.
Responsibilities:
Lead and implement user research projects to evaluate the usability and user experience of event technology solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other UX Researchers, and senior stakeholders to identify user needs and develop research plans
Personally conduct user interviews, surveys, and usability testing
Analyze user research data and provide insights and recommendations to improve the user experience
Where applicable, develop and maintain user personas and journey maps
Stay up-to-date on the latest UX research trends and methodologies
Present research findings to stakeholders and make recommendations for improvements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human-computer interaction, information systems, psychology, sociology, computer science, or a related applicable field OR equivalent professional experience
4+ years of direct experience in user research or a related field
Solid understanding of UX research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative research methods
Experience with common UX research tools and software
Skilled research practitioner with experience conducting user interviews, surveys, and usability testing
Strong business acumen which you use to analyze user research data and provide insights and recommendations back to the business
Experience with presenting research findings to stakeholders
Superb communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable working in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment while simultaneously managing multiple projects
