Your Impact:

MuleSoft is looking for a motivated Solution Engineering (SE) Manager to join our exceptionally talented Pre-Sales Solution Engineering team, which is instrumental to MuleSoft’s growth. As the Mid-Market Financial Services Manager of Solution Engineering (Pre-Sales) Unit, you will help build and drive a high-paced and high-growth business in collaboration with your peers in sales, customer success, and professional services, through leading and growing a team of Solution Engineers.

The Mid-Market covers banks with $1B to $5B under assets and other FINs businesses with 200 to 1000 employees. The SE Manager will be aligned with two Regional Vice Presidents who will have 7 Account Executives (AE) each.



You will develop and allocate resources, perform employee reviews and evaluations, participate in strategic opportunities, and support team members as needed to grow the Mid-Market business. You will be a player-coach, actively working together with your team members to solve difficult problems, and coordinating product team and partner resources when required. You will also drive pivotal initiatives and programs as needed and actively support the team’s career development and advancement. You will need to drive innovation with our sales plays through improved processes, techniques, relationships, and tools.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Solution Engineering for MuleSoft’s FINS Business Unit, you will be a key member of the Solution Engineering leadership team for MuleSoft, and you will be responsible for building and developing pre-sales aspects of the business for territories across several key industries and ecosystem (core, professional services, customer success, and partners).   • Front-line SE leadership experience + experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive experience leading or participating in complex Solution Engineering organizations
  • Experience in architecture and integration technologies, with the ability to present and demo to a business or technical audience
  • Have solid technical skills to handle those player situations
  • Effective interpersonal skills to create senior and executive relationships with key customer partners
  • Ability to innovate with new ideas, processes, and tools
  • Tailor messaging and approaches to match targeted business segments
  • Ability to act as a force multiplier and have a passion for team and team members’ success by providing technical guidance, career development, and mentorship
  • Ability to maintain high morale and motivate the SE team to go above and beyond – leading by exemplifying our core values
  • Ability to communicate equally with internal resources such as Executive Leadership, Product Development, Product Marketing, and Sales Management to gain dedication and support
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Salesforce - Sales, Services, Customer Success teams, Alliances, Partners, etc.
  • Ability to self-identify, formulate a plan, and execute areas where improvement can be had across the organization


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MuleSoft knowledge and certifications are bonuses
  • Experience selling enterprise software to Financial Services is a plus

    Preferred Requirements:
  • Prior Solutions management experience
  • Prior experience in Financial Services sales organizations
  • Prior experience as a Solution Engineer in an Individual Contributor capacity
  • Prior experience with integration


Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates will possess good analytical capabilities, be organized, and be able to work on many tasks at the same time.
  • The Solution Engineering Leader should be proficient with analytic solutions, enterprise data architectures and be able to present to a business or technical audience.
  • The Solution Engineering Leader must be able to support the Solution Engineering team by guiding sales strategies, and approaches to solve specific problems, as well as represent their team’s needs to Salesforce’s executive staff.
  • The Solution Engineering Leader should be able to communicate equally with internal resources such as Product Management, Product Marketing, Development, and Sales Management to gain commitment and support.
  • The Solution Engineering Leader should have a genuine interest in developing/mentoring team members by providing constructive feedback and leveraging teaching opportunities to help team members grow their careers.
