Overview of the Role:

The Email Platform Orchestration & Operations team is helping to shape the future of email marketing at Salesforce. Positioned within the marketing technology organization, our newly formed team focuses on strategy, team and platform operations, risk management, and governance for the Salesforce marketing email channel. Working closely with email product, engineering, and email experience, enablement and experimentation teams, we leverage data insights for impactful execution that maximizes resources and ensures efficiency and alignment.

The Orchestration & Operations team is looking for a passionate Data Insights Manager who will play a pivotal role in transforming our data into strategic insights that drive our email marketing channel to new heights. Partnering with our Marketing Decision Science and Strategy teams, this key team member will contribute to data-driven decision-making by uncovering trends, optimization opportunities, and areas for overall channel health improvement. Responsibilities:

  • Data Exploration and Analysis: Delve into diverse datasets, extracting meaningful patterns, trends, and insights to identify opportunities for business improvement through exploratory data analysis

  • KPIs and Benchmarks: Establish and monitor email channel performance metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, revenue generated, unsubscribe rates and more, ensuring alignment with broader marketing KPIs

  • Reporting and Visualization: Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools like SQL, Excel, Tableau, and Google Analytics to effectively communicate campaign findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Segmentation and Targeting Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop sophisticated email targeting and segmentation strategies based on customer behavior, demographics, and preferences.

  • Experimentation Analysis: Recommend A/B and multivariate testing experiments to optimize platform performance and inform channel strategies, analyzing and reporting on outcomes. Establish testing methodologies and frameworks for ongoing implementation

  • Data Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data by implementing data quality assurance processes and maintaining documentation

  • Competitive Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, benchmark our email marketing performance against competitors, and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Data Privacy and Compliance: Maintains a comprehensive understanding of Salesforce data environments, data assets, and ensure that all related data activities adhere to relevant data privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA, with a strong emphasis on data security

Preferred Qualifications:

  • You have 5+ years of experience within marketing analytics, collaborating across functions with intricate datasets to facilitate organizational decision-making

  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, digital analytics, web analytics and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Google Analytics, Big Query)

  • Understanding of B2B marketing dynamics and email campaign strategies

  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing methodologies as well as expertise in statistical analysis

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights

  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills that can clearly convey complex findings to all audience types

  • Experience working in cross-functional, highly matrixed environments, managing multiple stakeholders simultaneously

  • Self-motivated and excels in maintaining a high level of efficiency while working independently in a globally distributed setting

  • Thrives in solving ambiguous problems and sees opportunities where others see chaos

  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Eloqua) and understanding of email marketing best practices

  • Prior consulting or client services experience

  • B2B experience

  • Degree or equivalent proven experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.)
