About the Team
Public Sector Business Development is a newly established team in Fiscal Year 25. Public business is a major growth area in Japan, and there is a growing momentum to drive Japan's growth through public-private co-creation. The primary focus of this team is to establish the infrastructure for the public sector business and spearhead public-private co-creation initiatives at Salesforce Japan.

About Role
Director of Government Co-creation strengthens relationships with key figures in government agencies, including members of parliament and the Digital Agency, as well as influential individuals in major local governments such as Tokyo government, and other stakeholders from industry, academia, and the public. This leader advances Salesforce's role in government digital transformation and the resolution of societal challenges through the utilization of technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop key customer relationships and drive customer impact and value to Japanese government and local governments

  • Develop and drive the overall long-term strategy for the government customers, aligned to customer business objectives

  • Establish the necessary infrastructure to expand business in the Public Sector. This involves developing strategies such as government cloud measures, leveraging Digital MarketPlace (DMP), and setting government prices.

  • Serve as an evangelist, effectively communicating Salesforce's value proposition to government stakeholders.

  • Maintain close communication with the global team and convey overseas trends and advanced examples to stakeholders in Japan.

  • Lead collaborative efforts across industry, government, academia, and the private sector to address societal challenges, to contribute to the expansion of Salesforce's business, particularly in generating significant deals.

  • Disseminate government-related information beneficial for business and support business development efforts, involving stakeholders when opportunities arise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in government related organizations (central government agencies, local governments, Parliamentary offices and local government councilor offices, etc.)

  • Over 3 years of work experience in the public sector sales division, policy advocacy department, or related roles in a technology company

  • Established relationships with key figures in digital policy, including executives from the Digital Agency and members of parliament affiliated with the Digital Society Promotion Headquarters of the LDP

  • Experience in launching new business ventures and business development within a corporate setting

  • Strong business English proficiency: TOEIC score of 900 or above, or overseas study/work experience of 1 year or more

  • Excellent communication skills: Experience in contributing to magazines or speaking at events

  • Knowledge and proficiency in proposing solutions related to cloud services
