Reporting to the Global head of Marketing Business Operations, this role will be critical on the Slack Marketing Team, working on day-to-day activities to support overall strategic planning and operational cadence for the marketing organization. The role will primarily be focused on headcount planning and budget management. This position will require developing a deep and intimate understanding of the business and forging relationships with Sales Leaders, Strategy, Finance and cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will possess a passion for questioning data and the wherewithal to investigate in order to create scalable operational improvements. The candidate will be comfortable partnering closely with cross-functional business partners as well as the attention to detail needed to perform data validation, clean-up and analysis,

  • Responsibilities
    • Help to design and own headcount management process for Distribution, working cross-functionally to ensure headcount is led efficiently and adheres to workforce plan
    • Develop and own concurrent data reporting projects and models to identify trends and areas of interest useful and actionable for the business leaders.
    • Liaise with Sales Strategy, Marketing Leaders, Employee Success, Recruiting and FP&A teams for alignment and improvement on headcount tracking, planning and reporting.
    • Ensure accuracy of data across our systems and work with other teams to resolve issues as identified.
    • Communicates and increases blockers in a timely manner and proposes possible remedies to overcome
    • Communicate the status of the project to cross-functional team members and management
    • Develop repeatable business, operational and financial processes widely understood by all key partners and continue to look for process improvements to drive scalable, best-in-class solutions.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting - analyzing financial results, distilling/synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risk, and communicating key messages to business partners.
    • Management of a team of financial analysts, and managing projects to a successful completion.
    • Build out our reporting & data analytics capabilities through the optimization of a dedicated reporting resource & applying available technologies
    • Provide relevant analysis and reporting metrics to optimize business performance
    • Align with COE worldwide to ensure consistency of processes, accounting and reporting
  • Preferred Skills/Experience
    • 6+ years of work experience, ideally in Sales Operations, Sales Strategy, or FP&A, or Finance, where business analysis and insights in the DNA.
    • Power-user proficiency in Excel, ability to tell a story in PowerPoint and knowledge of Databases. Ability to become proficient in Tableau’s full product suite.
    • Experience with Workday, Anaplan or other ERP systems is a huge plus.
    • Tried core values based in collaboration, tclarity equality, and putting the customer first.
    • Consistent track record for planning, completing and auditing work; able to break down problems or processes into their parts and develop recommendations.
    • Possesses strong multitasking skills and confirmed ability to reprioritize accordingly.
    • Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational skills. Must be comfortable owning and communicating information at the executive leadership level.
    • Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of critical information, issues and events.
    • Ability to succeed in a collaborative, start-up paced environment, which may include extended time commitments during busy-season

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $132,800 to $182,600.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
