COO, Marketing Cloud

We are looking for an experienced leader with a track record of identifying and solving strategic problems while driving the growth of Marketing Cloud. The COO will have a key role in product strategy, scale growth, and operational excellence for Marketing Cloud. As well as, lead transformations to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and strategic position of our global business. The COO will lead a team that ensures our people, processes, systems, and physical infrastructure are built to scale to deliver both seasonal peaks and our long-term growth.

This position will report to the Marketing Cloud GM and together they will set, manage, and execute the overall Marketing Cloud vision. The Marketing Cloud COO will act as an advisor to the Marketing Cloud GM, and the Marketing Cloud Product, Engineering, Distribution, and Product Marketing leadership team to drive success in key areas such as where to rapid test and learn, detail learning agendas, model financials, and define partnership models.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Delivering consistent and data-driven Product Strategy planning and investment across Marketing Cloud and cross-cloud product and GTM areas.

  • Partnering with Distribution, Product Marketing, Customer Success, Pricing & Packaging, and Sales Strategy teams to identify, develop, and operationalize strategic initiatives that accelerate Cloud growth.

  • Executing the V2MOM, including accelerating the achievement of milestones, quarterly reviews, and monthly operational metrics updates.

  • Identify opportunities, strategies, and process improvements, maintain and manage Cloud priority lists to meet long-range plans for growth and profit.

  • Provide strategic thought leadership to advise and structure initiatives, identify key themes, develop mitigation plans, and make connections of opportunities across functional areas

  • Partnering with Product and Engineering leads to accelerate a data-informed, product adoption approach to FY investments, release and roadmap planning, and alignment to the corporate Accountability Performance Matrix (APM)

  • Oversee and manage a variety of highly prioritized projects, as well as complete ad-hoc projects, requests, and analysis

  • Provide strategic assessments and operating reviews of new and current business ventures and operations

  • Work with both department and C-level leadership to drive their agendas and partner with them to identify, evaluate, prioritize and deliver strategic initiatives across the business.

  • Ensure our people, process, systems are built to scale long-term growth.

  • Drive internal approval and consensus building

  • Work with GM to set, manage and execute on the Marketing Cloud vision.

  • Build a work environment that promotes Ohana, teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, performance feedback / management, and employee satisfaction

  • Leading Cloud Communications, organization design, and change management in partnership with Employee Success.

Desired Experience:

  • 15+ years of a well-rounded combination of product management, strategy, operations, product analytics, program/project management, or consulting management and execution experience in positions of increasing responsibility

  • On the ground experience with SAAS (preferred) or high tech

  • Undergraduate and MBA Degree

  • Extensive experience working directly with Executive leadership, and steering Executive alignment across multiple business units.

  • Experienced leader with executive management and communication skills that aligns to Salesforce core values.

  • Ability to motivate and lead large cross-functional teams by example, even when challenges are extremely complex and solutions are unclear. Proven track record of managing strategy & operational teams in large, matrixed organizations (Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Product Marketing, SIs, and more).

  • Excellent and candid communicator in written and verbal form; ability to build a Marketing Cloud Communications strategy and lead all Cloud communications.

  • Highly motivated, execution focused, with a positive and resilient attitude.

  • Advanced Marketing Cloud and Salesforce product knowledge.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $313,000 to $430,000.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $313,000 to $430,000.Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
