Role Description
The Customer Success Group’s (CSG) Offer Management team is a product management organization that productizes and monetizes the CSG capabilities that will help Salesforce customers realize business value from their Salesforce technology investment. This team is a “messenger of the market” to the rest of the CSG organization, identifying the best market segments and opportunities for success offers. We maintain a roadmap for our portfolio, develop research-backed business cases for offer development and positioning, and manage the entire portfolio from design to end of life. We adhere to a governance framework to effectively manage and execute cross-functional work. Once offers are launched, we measure offer performance and identify changes to improve the experience customers and Salesforce employees have with our offers.
As Salesforce introduces new license products, it is also the remit of this organization to understand how Salesforce’s New Product Introductions create new or different customer needs that should be met through Success Plan offers or features. This part of the organization, referred to as Global Readiness, also maintains a roadmap of Readiness programs to prepare Success Plans and the Success Plan delivery organization to continually address customer needs as Salesforce introduces innovation within its license and technology products.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as the Governance and PMO Center of Excellence Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for operationalizing the governance model we use to govern and execute against our Success Plan and Global Readiness roadmaps.
A successful COE Leader will drive the creation of and adherence to standards and processes, consistency in application of our governance model across programs and portfolios, quality across programs and offer launches, and continuous improvement of our PMO infrastructure.
This leader will also lead a team of 6-7 direct reports who will provide program and project management support to Program Portfolio Leads. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in program management, and a proven track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams.
Your Impact
Operationalizing the Governance Model
- Develop and implement right-sized governance practices that ensure effective management of roadmaps and portfolios.
- Operationalize forums and communications integral to our governance model.
- Implement process standardization across projects and programs to drive consistency and quality.
Management of Launch Readiness
- Develop and oversee centralized readiness across all Success Plan offer launches for each of Salesforce’s seasonal releases (Spring, Summer, Winter).
- Track and report on Success Plan readiness for all Salesforce New Product Introductions in each of Salesforce’s seasonal releases (Spring, Summer, Winter).
- Assess and report on overall release readiness for all launches in the next seasonal release.
- Aggregate post-launch retrospective learnings from individual program teams to identify persistent issues and implement standards or controls that will mitigate risk in future launches.
PMO Infrastructure Development
- Develop and execute against a prioritized roadmap of PMO Infrastructure initiatives that provide Program Managers with the tools, templates, practices, and systems to support efficient project and program execution.
- Identify and execute on enhancements to the organization’s program management framework, ensuring it aligns with industry best practices.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and inspire a team of 6-7 direct reports, providing pooled PM support for dedicated Program and Portfolio Managers.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to team members, promoting their professional growth and development.
- Foster a collaborative and high performance culture for the PM community.
- Establish and report on Program Manager KPIs for all Program Managers in the organization.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in project and program management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing teams, with a focus on coaching and mentorship.
- Deep understanding of program management principles and practices.
- Proven ability to enforce and enhance process standardization across diverse projects and programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience leading change and operational improvements within a PMO environment.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Familiarity with Salesforce products and services is a plus.
