We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.
At Plaid, data powers everything we build—from smarter onboarding and fraud detection to faster payments and personalized insights. We’re looking for a Product Manager to lead our Data Platform, ML, and AI strategy, creating the foundations that enable every team at Plaid to build and ship with data confidently and at scale.
You will define the roadmap for Plaid’s data and ML ecosystem, spanning infrastructure, governance, and platform capabilities. This role works across engineering, machine learning, and product teams to deliver systems that make Plaid faster, smarter, and more adaptive. It’s a high-impact, highly visible role that requires strong technical depth, clear thinking, and a bias toward action.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Plaid’s data, ML, and AI platforms. Enable teams to move from raw data to insight and intelligence quickly and safely.
  • Build and scale foundational systems and tools that power model training, data pipelines, and data-driven products across Plaid.
  • Lead initiatives to improve data governance, discoverability, and quality. Ensure secure, compliant, and auditable access to trusted data and models.
  • Partner with engineering, data science, and product teams to design scalable online and offline data flows that connect upstream generation with downstream analytics and products.
  • Align teams across the Data Org, ML engineering, and product lines such as Credit, Fraud, and Identity. Translate platform investments into measurable impact.
  • Stay current on trends in ML, AI, and data infrastructure. Help shape how Plaid applies these technologies responsibly and effectively.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product management experience in data platforms, ML/AI tooling, or developer infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of the data and model lifecycle, including collection, governance, training, deployment, and observability
  • Experience shipping high-leverage platform products used by data scientists, engineers, or product teams
  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and influence across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Builder mindset with comfort in ambiguity and a track record of taking ideas from concept to launch
  • [Nice to Have] Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments such as fintech or healthcare
  • [Nice to Have] Familiarity with modern data stack tools like dbt, Airflow, Feast, MLflow, or Snowflake
  • [Nice to Have] Experience shaping data governance, experimentation, or ML practices at scale
Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone.
