The mission of Plaid's Security team is to secure environments for our employees, development, and services. We achieve this by implementing controls that layer security into the groundwork of our engineering infrastructure, streamlining implementations, and measuring effectiveness. We also monitor and respond to issues that occur in those environments, address events, and reduce risk exposure.
We are seeking an Experienced Security Platform Manager to join our existing Security team. In this role, you will be responsible for directly impacting our organization's security posture, enabling security across the foundations on which we do business. You will collaborate closely with engineering and security teams and other stakeholders to ensure Plaid’s infrastructure is ready to mitigate the dynamic threats the company faces. You will direct the overall strategy of the Security Operations team, providing guidance and prioritization to major initiatives that improve our long-term defensive capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Owning the direction of cloud and corporate security within a world-class Security team.
- Leading an effective team to deliver on increasingly impactful and ambitious objectives.
- Building comprehensive security controls across cloud, container, and corporate environments.
- Applying previous experience to provide guidance, mentorship, and growth for team members.
- Following changes in the state of security as an industry, and growing your own knowledge of offensive threats and defensive techniques and best practices.
- Coordinating holistic identity and access management practices.
- Oversee and conduct formal incident investigations and lead advanced incident handling scenarios including internal and external data breaches and abnormal activity.
Requirements
- Effective people management skills, including goal-setting, prioritization, cross-team coordination, and continuous feedback.
- Strong knowledge of cloud and container infrastructure best practices, protection of corporate assets, and threat detection techniques.
- Broad experience across security operations topics that affect infrastructure and corporate environments, including identity and access, network, vulnerability, and change management.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and risk-based security programs.
- Demonstrable mentorship results to help ensure continued skill and capability growth across the SecOps team.
- Background working in security engineering orgs, protecting AWS and Kubernetes environments.
- Security control automation and implementation across AWS and Kubernetes environments.
