The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. If the role is non-exempt, overtime pay will be provided consistent with applicable laws. About the Team

The Developer Infrastructure team sits within OpenAI’s Engineering Acceleration group. We build and operate the infrastructure that powers code management, validation, and integration. Our mission is to provide a highly reliable and scalable infrastructure that enables research and product teams to rapidly iterate and bring new innovations to more than a billion users while maintaining the highest standards of reliability and safety.

About the Role

We’re looking for a leader to drive OpenAI’s Developer Infrastructure team. This team is responsible for how engineers build, validate, and integrate code into our mainline quickly and reliably. This includes source control, CI systems, build infrastructure, artifact storage, and pre-merge validation workflows. You’ll ensure these Tier-0 systems scale with our engineering growth, delivering a fast, trusted, and frictionless path from code to trunk.

This is a high-impact opportunity to shape one of OpenAI’s most critical technical capabilities, unlocking the speed and reliability that fuel our mission to delight users with continuous innovation.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive the evolution of our Developer Infrastructure to support faster iteration cycles, improved reliability, and reduced development friction.

  • Enable engineering teams and their agents to rapidly code, build, and test changes frequently with confidence.

  • Scale the Infrastructure to meet the demands of a growing engineering team coupled with explosive growth in agents.

  • Partner closely with Product, Infrastructure, and Research teams.

  • Lead, grow, and inspire a team of engineers, setting direction and fostering a culture of operational excellence.

  • Have a strong track record of leading and delivering complex, cross-functional projects.

Hybrid: This role is in-person at our San Francisco office 3 days a week.
