Mission
OpenAI’s Scaling organization provides the software and hardware that deliver useful compute for the entire company. This includes training and inference frameworks, cluster management and hardware health, hardware and data-center design, and partnerships with research teams to train frontier models and host engines used by billions of people.
A centerpiece of this mission is Stargate, our next-generation compute initiative to design and stand up world-class infrastructure capable of powering the most advanced AI models.
About the Role
We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Technical Recruiter to partner with senior data center leaders to drive hiring for Stargate. This role sits on the Recruiting team but operates as an embedded partner to the Scaling organization, giving you deep context on technical priorities and the freedom to craft creative, high-impact sourcing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with executives and engineering leadership to understand current and future hiring needs across data-center engineering, and physical infrastructure.
Partner with our sourcing team to design and execute strategic sourcing plans that map global talent markets, drive top-of-funnel activity, and cultivate long-term relationships with exceptional candidates.
Own the candidate journey from sourcing handoff through offer stage, ensuring a high touch and excellent experience.
Provide market intelligence, funnel metrics, and competitive insights to inform hiring plans and influence decisions.
Collaborate with sourcers, coordinators, and other recruiters to run efficient processes and maintain a consistent, brand-forward candidate experience.
Serve as a thought partner to leaders as we scale Stargate from concept to execution, bringing data, creativity, and sound judgment to every search.
Manage a high volume of requisitions while driving hiring plans, headcount strategy, and scalable process development.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of progressive technical recruiting experience in high-growth tech environments.
Demonstrated success hiring in the hyperscale space within physical infrastructure/data infrastructure
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with leadership and hiring teams
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where priorities can shift quickly.
Act as a collaborative strategic partner to leadership, cross-functional partners and peers
Ability to build out new interview processes and hiring strategies from scratch
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and pivot gracefully under pressure and changing priorities
Workplace & Location
This role is based in our San Francisco or Seattle office. We operate a hybrid model: three days per week in the office with optional work-from-home on Thursdays and Fridays. Relocation support is available.
