The OpenAI Comms design team/Design Studio is crucial in building and maintaining OpenAI's brand identity, ensuring a consistent and impactful brand presence both inside the company and to the world.

We bridge product development, communications and marketing, engineering, and research—weaving cohesive storytelling and brand representation across all touchpoints through our innovative design and strategic communication.

Communicating the advances and benefits of AGI is one of the most important workstreams at OpenAI, and our goal is to do it beautifully, accessibly, and with transparency and authenticity.

The web/digital experience team is responsible for developing and implementing external and internal web and digital programs, projects, and experiences that align with the company's brand, culture, and global objectives. This team plays a crucial role in fostering collaboration across the company, aligning communications, ensuring scalability, and forging innovative design and solutions.

About the Role

As a Web Lead Producer/Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in scoping, managing, and communicating broader web and digital experience strategies and projects.

This role will ensure alignment within the comms design team (design to dev), as well as ensure tight partnership and planning with stakeholders across the company for internal and external web experience programs and projects.

As a central part of the comms design production team, this role is paramount in ensuring the creation of cohesive, tech-forward, and on-brand digital content—reinforcing our commitment to fostering a culture of quality and innovative design internally and externally.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and implement strategies for large-scale web projects and digital experiences, ensuring alignment with the company's global objectives.

• Lead the globalization and mobilization efforts for the company's web presence, ensuring scalability and adaptability across different markets.

• Foster collaboration between design teams, development teams, engineers, and other departments to ensure a unified and efficient workflow.

• Oversee the creation and management of digital experience workstreams, including website design, multimedia production, and interactive features.

• Manage cross-functional workstreams, coordinating between various stakeholders to ensure timely and impactful project delivery.

• Evaluate and integrate the latest web technologies and digital trends to enhance the user experience and drive engagement.
  

You might thrive in this role if you:

• Technical Skills: Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Asana, JIRA, Trello) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Contentful, etc,). Knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web development frameworks a plus.

• Demonstrated experience in managing web infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and performance at scale.

• Proven ability to lead globalization workstreams, ensuring content and infrastructure adaptability across different markets and languages.

• Strong expertise in IA and content structure strategy, with a user-centric approach to website navigation and content organization.

• Experience in developing and implementing growth strategies for web platforms, focusing on scalability and user engagement.

• Proficiency in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), A/B testing frameworks, and SEO strategies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Meticulous attention to detail and appreciation for design, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy in project deliverables.
