System Software Engineer Intern, Autonomous Vehicles - 2025
NVIDIA
Our work at NVIDIA is dedicated to a computing model focused on visual and AI computing. For two decades, NVIDIA has pioneered visual computing, the art and science of computer graphics, with our invention of the GPU. The GPU has also shown to be spectacularly effective at solving some of the most sophisticated problems in computer science. Today, NVIDIA’s GPU simulates human intelligence, running deep learning algorithms and acting as the brain of computers, robots and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. We are looking to grow our company and teams with the smartest people in the world and there has never been a more exciting time to join our team!
The Autonomous Vehicles team is searching for engineers to develop and bring NVIDIA's automotive platform to the world. You will participate in a focused effort to develop and productize ground-breaking solutions that will redefine the world of transportation and the growing field of self-driving cars. Work with hardworking and dedicated multi-functional engineering development teams across various vehicle subsystems to integrate their work into our autonomous driving DRIVE SW platform, while achieving or exceeding all meaningful NVIDIA and automotive standards & guidelines. You'll find the work is exciting, fun, and very meaningful. We have customers and competition.
What you'll be doing:
Use in-house data playback, simulation & visualization tools to re-animate & reproduce performance issues experienced during test drives.
Collaborate with software & algorithm experts to investigate, deduce, and isolate root causes of test drive issues.
Collaborate software & algorithm teams to develop fixes & improvements for the identified issues.
Design and implement Autonomous Vehicles software, including system integration, application design, performance/power optimization, stress/stability/compliance test
Drive the reliability of the whole software system which includes but is not limit to Time sync, Vehicle Network, RADAR, LiDAR, Camera sensor processing, and fusion
Work towards the best user experience, internally and externally
Develop a strong technical understanding of the stack, proactively identify new opportunities for product application and creative ways to solve/mitigate technical challenges
What we need to see:
Pursuing a BS, MS in CS/CE/EE with prior experience
Demonstrated proficiency in C/C++ development, experience in Python programming
Familiar with git or other version control tooling.
Ability and flexibility to work and communicate effectively in a multinational, multi-time-zone corporate environment
Self-motivated and a good teammate
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Good knowledge of key Autonomous Driving technologies and typical challenges of key components.
Prior experience in the Autonomous Vehicles field
Worked with CAN and tools, RADAR, LiDAR
Familiarity with cloud-based workflows
