We are seeking an energetic, hardworking Motion / Trajectory planning and controls software engineer to develop key features for our autonomous driving platform. In this role, you will work on a mix of Trajectory planning, Motion Planning and control problems to build focused software solutions. Through effective collaboration with established teams, you will help design and mature new products all the way through to production.

What you'll be doing:
Maturing and productizing new features entails a diversity of activities, including:

  • Developing optimization algorithms

  • Modeling desired L2/L3/L4 vehicle behavior and driving modes as an optimal-control problems

  • Designing the overall software architecture for a particular feature or component.

  • Maturing prototype software to production quality.

What we need to see:

  • MS or higher in an engineering or technical field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Control, Optimization, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, etc.) or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of practical experience.

  • Experience writing software in C++.

  • Your ability to demonstrate strong skills in applied mathematics is crucial. Proficiency with core concepts in linear algebra, differential equations, numerical methods and convex optimization.

  • Comfort with an Agile/Scrum software development environment in Linux using GitLab, JIRA, Gerrit (or similar).

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

We definitely want to hear from you if you are an upbeat contributor with a background that includes one or more of the following:

  • Experience in working in product development and vehicle test environment.

  • Expertise in developing optimization solvers: linear, quadratic, second-order cone, and fully nonlinear, and their applications in model-predictive control systems for vehicle dynamic models.

  • Experience working with motion planning algorithms (A*, D*, RRTs, etc.) and using ML for planning will be an added advantage.

Academic and commercial groups around the world are powering a revolution in artificial intelligence using deep learning techniques running on NVIDIA GPUs, enabling breakthroughs in problems from image classification to speech recognition to natural language processing and autonomous vehicles. Intelligent AI computers that can learn, reason and interact with people are no longer science fiction. Today, a self-driving car powered by AI can meander through a country road at night and find its way. An AI-powered robot can learn motor skills through trial and error. This is truly an outstanding time. The era of AI has begun and NVIDIA is leading the drive with revolutionary hardware and software. Come join us at NVIDIA!
