Are you a student with strong emphasis on computer graphics? Are you interested in acquiring hands on experience working on a modern rendering engine and implementing novel rendering algorithms? Do you feel at home working with the latest GPU hardware and GPU software APIs before anybody else gets to try them? At NVIDIA, we are developing the most forward-looking real-time rendering technology based on real-time ray tracing enabled by NVIDIA's RTX technology. This work lies at the core of NVIDIA Omniverse, our collaborative content creation and simulation platform.

We are looking for Real-Time Ray Tracing Interns who are passionate about pushing the limits of what is possible with the best GPUs and who share our forward-looking vision. In this position you will work as part of the Omniverse RTX Renderer team, along some of the world leaders on real-time ray tracing. Your work will impact a number of products being worked on at NVIDIA and outside NVIDIA.

What you'll be doing:

  • Implementing new rendering techniques in a game engine using real-time path tracing with NVIDIA RTX technology

  • Improving the performance and quality of techniques you or others developed

  • Ensuring that the rendering techniques are robust and work well for the content needs of products using them

What we need to see:

  • Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • Good understanding of C++, HLSL or GLSL

  • Knowledge of ray tracing, real-time rendering, and/or offline rendering algorithms

  • Knowledge of the GPU Graphics Pipeline, GPU architecture, and Compute programming APIs

  • Comfortable with a complex game engine codebase

  • Familiarity with the math commonly used in real-time rendering as well as multi-threaded programming techniques

With highly competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package, NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world's most desirable employers. We have some of the most forward-thinking and hardworking people on the planet working for us and, due to unprecedented growth, our special engineering teams are growing fast. If you're a creative and autonomous engineer with a genuine passion for technology, we want to hear from you.

The hourly rate for our interns is 19 USD - 93 USD. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.

You will also be eligible for Intern benefits. NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
