NVIDIA has been redefining computer graphics and accelerated computing for more than three decades. It's a unique legacy of innovation fueled by ground breaking technology and amazing people.

Ray tracing in conjunction with physical based material shading is the most trusted rendering technique as it enables believable photo-real renderings and physically accurate visual simulations. GPU-accelerated rendering has become an innovator and is revolutionizing film production, medical imaging, and industrial design as it accelerates associated workflows by magnitudes at much increased energy efficiency.

For our developer technology team in Wuerselen we are looking for a passionate senior engineer focusing on GPU-accelerated rendering. If speed of light execution is your mantra and GPU runtime performance is meaningful to you, we definitely would love to hear your visions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Debugging and in-depth performance profiling of GPU-accelerated 3D rendering and visual simulation applications for a detailed GPU utilization analysis.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams from our strategic software partners on realizing GPU utilization improvements of their applications and align with our developer relation team and the partners on development roadmaps.

  • Seeking frequent exchange with NVIDIA engineering and research teams and influencing full-stack rendering technology improvements.

  • Play with the latest GPU technology to develop new techniques using GPUs, build technical proof-of-concepts, write whitepapers and present your work at international conferences.

What we need to see:

  • A strong passion for performance optimization of software pipelines targeting GPU-accelerated rendering

  • In-depth understanding of most recent GPU architectures and how rendering workloads are processed on GPU-based systems

  • B.Sc / M.Sc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Natural Science or equivalent from a leading university

  • 5+ years of experience with CPU/GPU debugging and profiling tool chains

  • Confirmed expert knowledge in C/C++, CUDA, OptiX 7+, Vulkan and/or DX12

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate efficiently in complex technical scenarios

  • Distinct sense of intellectual honesty, risk taking, and responsibility
