Senior Software Engineer, Autonomous Vehicles

We are looking for a creative and dedicated person to join our team. You will work across many teams from Data Ops, to AI (Artificial Intelligence) and computer vision developers, to Test Engineering to test and diagnose the NVIDIA autonomous driving software. This provides a means of validating claimed product functionality while also creating a feedback path to vertical teams to guide the focus of their development efforts. Our true motivation and measure of success is building new solutions that achieve widespread use in the world.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Construct vehicle-level tests (labeled data and evaluation methods) which balance execution time against statistical confidence and coverage.

  • Drive development of highly automated testing systems for automotive-grade production software for NVIDIA’s autonomous driving solution.

  • Build and apply tools to process, analyze, and visualize large datasets for testing product function via signal replay;

  • Work cross-functionally to understand and develop testing inputs and needs across many stakeholders;

  • Adapt to rapidly-evolving test needs of a new technology space

What we need to see:

  • BS/MS or higher degree in CS, CE, EECS or related engineering or computer science or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of software engineering industry experience, with a passion for quality and testing at all levels of development and deployment

  • A background demonstrating engineering flexibility and an “impact first” mentality

  • Excellent Python and modern C++ programming skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of programming and debugging techniques, including parallel and distributed architectures.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with safety certification, especially in automotive

  • Experience with large-scale data processing in the cloud

  • Relevant domain knowledge (Perception and/or ML experience)

  • Experience with sensors, sensor fusion, or robotics
