Description

We are looking for a Production Supervisor to join our Operations team at LightForce Orthodontics. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production on designated shifts, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proven track record of success in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate production activities on assigned shifts to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Ensure adherence to production schedules and adjust staffing levels and resources as needed to optimize productivity.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate production staff to maximize performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to identify maintenance needs and ensure optimal operation.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, quality, and supply chain, to coordinate workflow and resolve any production-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports, including inventory levels, production output, and quality metrics.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures to uphold quality standards, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive initiatives to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the escalation of issues related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost on the production floor.

Education and Experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or related field preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment, and quality control principles.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams in a multi-shift environment.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to resolving issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite or Google Drive and other relevant software applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or related field.
  • Experience with ISO 13845, ISO 9001, and/or medical device regulation.
  • Experience working in a startup environment.
  • Experience with additive manufacturing.
  • Experience with QuickSight, Jira, and/or GitHub.

Physical Demands

  • Requires the ability to use hands, and reach with hands and arms
  • Requires the ability to see, listen, and speak
  • Requires work activities with production chemicals, adhesives and epoxies, using required personal protective equipment
  • Requires walking and standing for long periods of time

Work Environment

  • Office environment up to 100%
  • Work is generally performed in an open office, sedentary position
  • Limited temperature fluctuations, heated and air conditioned environment
  • Work is performed near moving mechanical parts and occasionally with sensitive chemicals
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
