About the Role:
IPSY, a leading online beauty subscription business, is seeking a data-driven and results-oriented Director of Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) to lead our re-engagement and e-commerce marketing efforts. In this role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of email and SMS campaigns, targeting lapsed customers and driving e-commerce growth. You’ll lead a talented team while working closely with cross-functional partners to ensure data and insights are at the core of every decision. This is a strategic marketing leadership role that requires a deep understanding of campaign performance, testing, and process optimization to drive measurable business outcomes.

This position reports to the Vice President, Customer Relationship Marketing and is can be fully remote from any of the 17 U.S. states where IPSY has a business presence.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Campaign Development and Execution: Lead a team of marketeers through the entire lifecycle of email and SMS campaigns, from ideation and planning to execution and delivery, ensuring flawless execution and alignment with business goals.
- Lead with Data: Develop and implement re-engagement and e-commerce email and SMS marketing campaigns driven by data analysis and insights.
- Analyze Performance: Continuously monitor and evaluate key metrics to understand campaign performance, uncover trends, and refine strategies. Leverage data to make informed decisions that improve customer engagement.
- Design and Execute Testing Cadence: Establish a testing cadence that includes A/B testing, multivariate testing, and incrementality testing to assess the true impact of campaigns. Analyze test results to extract actionable insights and make strategic and operational changes that enhance overall performance.
- Improve Operations: Identify opportunities to improve processes and workflows, using data to prioritize automation and efficiency initiatives. Utilize automation and best practices to minimize creative versioning.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with analytics, tech, brand and creative teams to develop data-informed messaging and content as well as provide business requirements for new tools or enhancements to existing ones.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and empower a team of marketing professionals to continuously improve campaign performance through increased relevancy that nurtures the relationship with the customers.
- Drive Innovation: Continuously seek opportunities to improve marketing programs, leveraging new tools, technologies, and functionalities to better utilize customer and campaign data.
- Communicate Insights to Senior Management: Regularly present data-driven insights, test results, and campaign performance to senior leadership. Provide a clear point of view, actionable recommendations, and strategic guidance to inform decision-making and drive business growth, ensuring executive stakeholders are aligned and informed.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in business, marketing, technical or quantitative field
- Strong analytical skills, with experience interpreting complex data sets, uncovering actionable insights, and presenting findings clearly to stakeholders. Proficient with Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs) or Google sheets required. Knowledge of analytics dashboards (Tableau, Looker, etc) highly desirable
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing direct reports and developing a high-performing marketing team, as well as having a presence in executive forums
- 8-10+ years of strategic and hands-on experience developing marketing campaigns; confident with segmentation, automation strategy, messaging, conversion optimization, and other facets of marketing using email, push, site, and in-app, etc.
- 8-10+ years experience working directly with an enterprise-grade ESP (Iterable, Braze, SalesForce, Responsys, etc); comfortable with data pipelines and architecture, targeting, multi-step workflows, QA, and reporting
- 8-10+ years experience developing and executing A/B tests for email, push, and SMS initiatives; confidently translates data into actionable business and consumer insights
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to execute a vision through consensus building, negotiation, and data-driven persuasion
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; relentlessly detail oriented
