Company Overview
Docusign brings agreements to life. Over 1.5 million customers and more than a billion people in over 180 countries use Docusign solutions to accelerate the process of doing business and simplify people’s lives. With intelligent agreement management, Docusign unleashes business-critical data that is trapped inside of documents. Until now, these were disconnected from business systems of record, costing businesses time, money, and opportunity. Using Docusign’s Intelligent Agreement Management platform, companies can create, commit, and manage agreements with solutions created by the #1 company in e-signature and contract lifecycle management (CLM).
What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer in the B2B - Business-to-Business engineering organization, you will lead the design and delivery of critical platform capabilities that power Docusign's Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) vision for enterprise customers. You will design, build, test, deploy, and operate scalable, highly available backend services and APIs that are core to our B2B products, partnering closely with product, architecture, and peer engineering teams across the organization. The Ingestion and Telemetry team: Designs and develops product features targeting both CLM and IAM products for enterprises and businesses. Designs and develops services, infrastructure and libraries to ensure that all B2B services ship with standardized and comprehensive telemetry and monitoring (metrics, logs, traces, alerts). Builds and evolves ingestion flows for agreements and attributes across CLM and IAM, including historical backfill and runtime pipelines that support CLM-IAM convergence use cases (Navigator, Agreement Manager, Party Management, obligation management, etc.). Researches and onboards modern observability technologies and data platforms so that engineering teams across B2B can leverage a unified, enterprise-grade telemetry and ingestion stack. You are comfortable working in a modern cloud environment (Azure and/or AWS), with a focus on performance, reliability, observability, and security. You collaborate well in cross-functional settings and help raise the engineering bar through design leadership, code quality, testing, and knowledge sharing.
This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering.
Responsibility
Lead feature and platform delivery across the full software development lifecycle: author and drive designs, implementation, testing strategy, deployment, and operational support for backend services, APIs, and telemetry pipelines used by B2B products and platforms (CLM, IAM, Navigator, Agreement Manager)
Design and implement services and APIs using C# or TypeScript/Node.js, following best practices for modularity, testability, and maintainability, with special emphasis on shared platform components and telemetry libraries adopted across multiple teams
Architect and evolve cloud-native, microservices-based systems leveraging Azure services, containers, and modern deployment practices to achieve high availability, resilience, and scalability for ingestion and telemetry workloads that support CLM-IAM convergence
Define and drive telemetry standards for B2B Platform: metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, and runbooks Ensure CLM and IAM services produce high-quality, consistent telemetry that can be used for incident response, capacity planning, SLO management, and product analytics
Own key ingestion and synchronization flows between CLM and IAM (e.g., document ingestion, attribute mapping, historical backfill, event pipelines) to support unified agreement views, obligation management, and Navigator/Agreement Manager scenarios
Lead and participate in high-severity incident response and post-mortems for your domain, using telemetry data and root cause analysis to drive long-term reliability, performance, and cost improvements across CLM-IAM converged stacks
Partner with product management, architecture, SRE, CLM feature teams, IAM platform teams, and data/analytics partners to refine requirements, align designs, and unblock cross-team initiatives, especially where CLM-IAM integrations depend on shared platform services (ADM, AuthZ, DMS, folders, attributes)
Drive code reviews, engineering best practices, and platformization patterns; help define and evolve standards for logging, metrics, traces, and ingestion pipelines across B2B Platform
Mentor and coach P3 and early-career engineers, amplifying team impact and helping others grow in telemetry, distributed systems, and platform thinking
Job Designation
Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)
Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. Preferred job designations are not guaranteed when changing positions within Docusign. Docusign reserves the right to change a position's job designation depending on business needs and as permitted by local law.

8+ years of professional software engineering experience building production services or applications using OO languages such as C#, Java, or TypeScript/Node.js, including ownership of complex backend systems in cloud environments
4+ years designing, building, and operating cloud-native microservices or APIs at scale (REST or gRPC), including version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment practices as part of your daily workflow
Experience with relational and/or NoSQL data stores and data modeling for production services, including data models that support telemetry and ingestion scenarios (events, attributes, documents, configurations)
Experience owning platform features end-to-end: design docs, implementation, test plans, rollout strategies, and operational support for services used by multiple teams or products
Experience with fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and troubleshooting in production environments, with hands-on experience diagnosing issues using logs, metrics, traces, and dashboards
Experience working effectively in cross-functional and cross-team settings, including driving alignment across CLM, IAM, and B2B Platform stakeholders

Prior work on shared platform components (libraries, pipelines, common services) adopted by multiple teams, with a track record of driving adoption and simplifying integration for partner teams
Experience participating in or leading RCAs and on-call activities for high-severity incidents, with a focus on prevention, resilience, and continuous improvement of SLOs and error budgets
Experience working in an agile environment and delivering software iteratively with frequent, high-quality releases, especially for platform and infrastructure capabilities
