What you'll do
The Senior Software Engineer, Sales will design, develop, and implement Application, Data, and Integration Engineering solutions that run our internal business, as well as evaluate existing components or systems to determine integration requirements and to ensure final solutions meet organizational needs. This role requires deep Salesforce and AI/ML knowledge, integration experience and sound judgment in order to effectively plan and deliver. The successful candidate will own multiple Business Application Projects and will be required to lead or direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected! This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director, GTM Engineering.
Responsibility
Explore and integrate hyperautomation technologies including AI/ML, intelligent document processing, and process mining
Lead experimentation for new automation capabilities and platforms
Lead system design and architecture decisions, including defining service boundaries, integration patterns, and data flow across distributed systems
Design and develop backend services and domain logic layers within the Salesforce and other adjacent GTM platforms, treating Apex as a server-side programming environment for enterprise application development
Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional projects, ensuring strong technical design, execution rigor, and timely outcomes without compromising engineering quality
Break down large initiatives into well-defined technical milestones, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and architectural trade-offs
Provide critical support coverage during month-end and quarter-end business cycles
Architect and implement API-first and event-driven integrations across distributed systems (e.g., Salesforce, AWS services, internal platforms) using REST, Platform Events, and middleware
Design and build enterprise-grade, code-driven applications using Lightning Web Components and/or Angular or React with a strong emphasis on scalable frontend layer and service orchestration
Design systems to support high-volume, enterprise-scale workloads, including bulk processing, asynchronous patterns, and large data volumes
Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex platform decisions across Sales systems
Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, CI/CD automation, deployment strategies, and production support
Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, including build automation, test orchestration, release governance, and deployment tooling using GitHub Actions and Salesforce CLI
Develop and maintain reusable frameworks, shared services, and platform utilities to standardize engineering practices and improve developer productivity
Lead performance optimization and scalability initiatives, including bulkification, asynchronous processing strategies, and system throughput improvements
Implement observability and reliability patterns, including structured logging, monitoring (e.g., Datadog), alerting, and proactive incident detection and resolution
Drive technical debt remediation and platform hardening, including refactoring legacy code, improving test coverage, and enforcing engineering standards
Partner with product and engineering teams to define and deliver scalable system capabilities and services
Own production system health, including incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvements
Contribute to AI-enabled and agent-driven workflows by integrating external AI services (LLMs, ML APIs) into Salesforce workflows
Mentor engineers and conduct rigorous code reviews, enforcing software engineering best practices, design patterns, and coding standards
Job Designation
Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring
Basic
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
8 years of experience in IT applications emphasizing Salesforce.com configuration, customization, and support
5 years of experience developing Salesforce Apex Classes, Controllers, Triggers, Visualforce, Web Services
Experience with Salesforce integrations using scripted data loader, web services, cloud or on-premise middleware (Platform Events, Informatica, Tray.io, etc.)
Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Salesforce CLI, etc.) for Salesforce
Experience working with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud (Communities)
Salesforce Platform Developer 1 certification (PD1)
Salesforce Platform Developer 2 certification (PD2)
Experience building Aura and/or Lightning Web Components
Preferred
Demonstrated understanding of requirements gathering, creating/deploying solutions to end users
Salesforce Application or System Architect
Experience supporting Salesforce instances with 5000+ users
Proficiency in defining intuitive, insightful, actionable, and compelling Einstein Analytics reports and dashboards
Experience with Salesforce/SaaS applications like Eloqua, D&B Optimizer, ZoomInfo, and Outreach
Superior communication and interpersonal skills
Wage Transparency
Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:
California: $140,000.00 - $225,075.00 base salary
This role is also eligible for the following:
- Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals. Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, which is calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.
- Stock: This role is eligible to receive Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
