Company Overview
Docusign brings agreements to life. Over 1.5 million customers and more than a billion people in over 180 countries use Docusign solutions to accelerate the process of doing business and simplify people’s lives. With intelligent agreement management, Docusign unleashes business-critical data that is trapped inside of documents. Until now, these were disconnected from business systems of record, costing businesses time, money, and opportunity. Using Docusign’s Intelligent Agreement Management platform, companies can create, commit, and manage agreements with solutions created by the #1 company in e-signature and contract lifecycle management (CLM).
What you'll do
As a Forward-Deployed AI Engineer (FDE) in the PreSales team, you’ll be the hands-on technical owner embedded with our go-to-market teams, turning customer goals into production-ready, AI-assisted agreement workflows. You’ll assist the customer in designing, building, and shipping applications that connect Docusign’s Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) platform and its Agreement Data Layer with enterprise technical stacks across global regions—delivering measurable value in weeks, not months.
This position is an individual contributor role reporting to Senior Director, Solution Architecture.
Responsibility
Design, build and deploy applications that span backend services, data‑orchestration pipelines, and intuitive front‑end UIs
Embed with customers—on site or virtually—to adapt and iterate solutions in live environments, integrating legacy systems and navigating ambiguity, expeditiously
Apply an author of experimentation mindset — build concepts, iterate on feedback, and create reusable libraries to accelerate future engagements
Automate agreement workflows via CI/CD pipelines, connecting Docusign’s workflow builder and App Center connectors to external systems. Ensure that data models and pipelines handle rapidly decaying customer information by updating agreements in real time
Work closely with your pod to translate customer requirements into technical designs, manage execution, and share field‑tested insights with Docusign’s product teams to shape the IAM platform and models
Engineer to enterprise-grade security and privacy requirements, ensuring compliant integrations and data handling for customer backend and frontend systems
Job Designation
Remote: Employee is not required to be in or near an office frequently and works from a designated remote work location for the majority of the time.
Positions at Docusign are assigned a job designation of either In Office, Hybrid or Remote and are specific to the role/job. Preferred job designations are not guaranteed when changing positions within Docusign. Docusign reserves the right to change a position's job designation depending on business needs and as permitted by local law.
What you bring
Basic
15+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 4 years in customer‑facing or embedded roles
Proficiency across backend (ex. Python, Node.js, Java, PHP), frontend (ex. React, Angular), and API design, with hands‑on experience building AI‑native systems in production
Experience with LLM models, tooling, and generative‑AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, RAG pipelines, vector search, prompt chaining)
Experience with DevOps skills—CI/CD, containerization, IaC—and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
Willingness to travel up to ~50 % for client engagements
Preferred
Experience integrating AI into SaaS platforms (Docusign, Microsoft, SAP, Google, ServiceNow or Salesforce) or deploying AI solutions in enterprise companies
Familiarity with Docusign’s IAM platform and its flagship products
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, prioritize user value, and drive iterative delivery
