What you'll do

Docusign is looking for a passionate Software Engineer to support the expansion of our data deletion system to adhere to global compliance regulations. This role will focus on enhancing and scaling our Data Deletion system, ensuring seamless integration with internal services. The individual will work within a high-scale, distributed, publisher-subscriber architecture to develop robust, asynchronous solutions for managing sensitive data and its lifecycle. They will utilize telemetry-based investigations, including KQL and GraphQL, to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, ensuring system integrity and performance. Additionally, the role will involve onboarding new services, addressing the intricacies of enterprise-level User Models, and optimizing data protection workflows to ensure scalable, compliant, and resilient solutions. Your experience will showcase examples of data lifecycle management, strategic vision, & high velocity delivering. Docusign is a global company, so a successful candidate will have the ability to work across different teams and geographies.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Engineering Manager, Data Protection.


Responsibility

  • Help build our Data Deletion system and partner with internal consumers onboarding onto our system
  • Develop high-quality, ship-ready code that is covered by a full test suite
  • Contribute to and drive a culture of building scalable and highly available systems
  • Work with Product Management and other developers to gather design requirements and provide estimates for development
  • Participate in an Agile environment using Scrum software development practices, automated unit testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and version control systems (GIT)

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • Experience working with C#, C++, Java, or other modern programming language

Preferred

  • Experience with gRPC, REST, JSON, and GraphQL
  • Experience working with AuthN/AuthZ systems
  • Experience working in large-scale and highly available, fault-tolerant system
  • Experience with applied cryptography and/or key management solutions, HSMs, Microservices
    Azure Cloud (Key Vault, Managed HSM, AKS, ADO) or any similar cloud experience
  • Experience with the entire software development lifecycle, including version control, build process, testing, and code release
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, prioritize your work and manage your own time
  • A passion to learn new software technologies

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $103,100.00 - $149,500.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
