What you'll do

As Contracts Specialist, you’ll provide critical deal and operational support to the Commercial Legal team of Docusign’s Legal Department. This role's primary function will be to help review and manage vendor agreements, support process building and training across the legal team, and manage metrics and reporting to legal department leadership.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Lead Counsel, Procurement.

Responsibility

  • Manage, review, and negotiate a broad range of inbound vendor/supplier agreements, including SaaS services, technology licensing, IT/infrastructure, facilities, professional services, consulting, goods, services, and nondisclosure agreements
  • Build out dashboards and assist with reporting of metrics associated with legal team review of vendor/supplier transactions (e.g., contract volume, breakdown by business unit, escalations, and cycle time)
  • Create and prepare new contract templates, playbooks, and business collateral based on the need of the legal department and the business
  • Train, counsel and provide guidance to the Legal department and support global business units to educate and enable successful business and legal practices

Job Designation

Remote: Employee is not required to be in or near an office frequently and works from a designated remote work location for the majority of the time.

What you bring

Basic

  • Minimum of 3+ years of related in-house legal department and technology-related contracting experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or applicable experience
  • Experience with Salesforce.com, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with Google Workspace

Preferred

  • Excellent contract negotiating and drafting skills
  • Ability to analyze and negotiate legal risks within contracts and know when appropriate to escalate to attorneys within the legal team or to external resources, as necessary, for further evaluation or approval
  • Critical and innovative thinker with excellent business sense and judgment and a track record of business-focused decision making and counseling
  • Demonstrated success in similar roles in the Cloud/SaaS software and technology environment with a good understanding of industry principles, concepts, practices and standards of contract review and management
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with building consensus, creating momentum, working cross-functionally with other departments and varying levels of management
  • Knowledge of process improvement transformation of infrastructure (templates, playbooks, etc.) with prior success in defining and documenting efficient and scalable solutions
  • Knowledge of the IT industry, data protection, information security, privacy, and the latest trends in commercial contracting
  • Strong technical skill set is a must; ability to work effectively with MS Office applications and catch on to new technologies quickly is vital to success
  • Familiarity with Docusign services, ServiceNow Salesforce, Google Apps, Smartsheet, CLM solutions, and other applications relevant to legal operations and contract management is considered highly valuable

Wage Transparency

Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:

California: $83,500.00 - $120,900.00 base salary

Illinois and Colorado: $79,100.00 - $102,800.00 base salary

Washington and New York (including NYC metro area): $79,100.00 - $108,550.00 base salary

Washington DC: $83,500.00 - $108,550.00 base salary

This role is also eligible for bonus and benefits.
