ipsy
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and versatile VP of Digital Excellence & PMO to act as a trusted partner to the CTO. This is a hybrid leadership role combining the strategic foresight of a Chief of Staff, the executional rigor of a Head of PMO, and the operations-oriented mindset of a Digital Operational Excellence leader. You will play a pivotal role in aligning teams, scaling operational maturity, and driving the successful execution of our most strategic technology programs for the largest beauty community in the world.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in complexity, understands the nuances of building digital platforms at scale, and can orchestrate across strategy, delivery, and systems performance.
This position reports to the CTO and can be fully remote in any of the 16 U.S. states where IPSY has an established business presence (see application for a list).
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Strategic Execution & CTO Enablement
- Serve as a strategic thought partner and force multiplier to the CTO.
- Drive annual planning, OKR alignment, and progress tracking across the technology org.
- Prepare high-impact communications including board updates, transformation briefings, and CTO-level narratives.
- Own cross-functional special projects requiring confidentiality, speed, or cross-department orchestration.
- Program & Portfolio Leadership
- Lead the centralized PMO function and ensure delivery excellence across all major programs.
- Define and manage a portfolio of strategic initiatives, including technology transformation, adoption, operational optimization, and experience transformation.
- Establish frameworks for prioritization, milestone tracking, dependency resolution, budget management, and risk management.
- Ensure alignment across Business, Engineering, Product, Data, and Infrastructure on execution goals and timelines.
- Digital Operational Excellence
- Drive the design and adoption of digital operational best practices across digital platform experiences, engineering, QA, SRE, and support.
- Define key digital performance KPIs—funnel conversion, site speed, crash rate, uptime—and lead initiatives to optimize them.
- Partner with infra, devops, SRE, Marketing, data, and analytics teams to improve instrumentation and measurement (Amplitude, Datadog, Sentry, etc.).
- Lead continuous improvement rituals (retrospectives, postmortems, tooling upgrades) to reduce friction and improve velocity.
- Organizational Health & Communication
- Manage the cadence of leadership meetings, all-hands, and tech town halls to drive clarity and cohesion.
- Support org design, resource planning, and transformation rollouts in partnership with HR, Finance, and Talent.
- Create a culture of transparency, delivery accountability, and operational excellence.
Why This Role Matters:
As we embark on a critical technology transformation from platform modernization to business acceleration, this role ensures we execute with focus, scale with discipline, and operate with excellence. If you’re excited by the challenge of shaping the future of beauty through technology, we’d love to meet you.
What We Are Looking For:
- 12+ years of experience in technology leadership roles spanning strategy, program management, and digital operations.
- Proven track record of supporting executive leaders and scaling operational capability in high-growth environments.

- Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Datadog, Monday.com etc.
- Skilled in cross-functional alignment, systems thinking, and decision-making in ambiguous environments.
- Adept at moving between 30,000-foot strategic planning and 3-foot daily execution support.
